I have grown basil multiple times using Aerogarden. They advertise growing 6 pods but when you do, they will fight for nutrients and deprive others of it.

I would recommend the Aerogarden Harvest Elite Slim over the basic ones.

I have both the regular squarish shaped Harvest and the Slim Elite and I definitely prefer the Slim style. I think it allows the plants better spacing. I never fill all 6 holes though because as you said, they do tend to crowd each other out.

Yes. I bought one last time and I have more basil than I know what to do with. Only thing is mine came with 2 dills 1 basil. I don't use dills

Yes will agree this one is a great starter and the herbs do very well. I got this same one a few months back when it was on sale last time. It's super easy and not very big. Maintenance is low but options are limited it's pretty much programmed for one mode. Why people say get the slim is because they have so many more options. I say get a farm xl because it's a beast and well worth it when the sales hit... this one is a great intro into the aerogarden world and will give you a quick yield compared to traditional dirt and pots. My dill is insane and kind of overtook my other herbs until I realized trimming and pruning are key. I'm not an expert at all just an impulse buyer that grabbed this thing last time and I love the products now and definitely recommend the deals when I see them.

Mine you can basically program your own garden settings, like pump schedule, light schedule etc. I have the farm and it also has a pump drain built-in so you can easily drain it without using a siphon. Also they have an app to control some models too
