Better buy than a 7800 XT?


EDIT: Found Reddit post stating this

The 6900 XT and 7800 XT are very close in performance while the 7800 XT runs at 250W vs 6900 XT 300W. However, Hyper-RX currently only available on RX 7XXX Series. 6900 XT has good overclocking headroom.

The 7800 XT has more room to fall in price yet considering its only been out a month, but overall deal is kinda meh in my opinion, price competitive but would probably just opt for 7800 XT

I will absolutely bite it if I have a better power supply greater than 650W. Have to wait other deals.

Not really a good deal. The 7800xt would be the preferable card to buy at the same price, but the MSRP for the 7800xt is actually cheaper in the first place.

Also, the 6800xt has been on sale for sub $450 multiple times, and *that* is a way better deal. Granted that's not running currently, but there's no way I'd jump on this after skipping so many amazing deals over the last 3-6 months, especially with black friday a month away.

you can undervolt it. They run better undevolted anyway

7800 XT would work for 650w. I'm running an XFX Merc 319 7800 XT which is one of the more power hungry AIB cards with a 5800x3d and it runs great.
