The 80V attachment capable trimmer is a good unit. This is not the latest, but it does have the Hi &Lo power setting. I had the original, but the trigger speed was unpredictable (no Hi & Lo setting). I sold that one and bought the latest (the battery loads from the top, and the controls are different). I paid $149 for the tool only, this one is a good buy for $99.

The $40 12" is 40V not 24V.

I'd like one of these to clear blowdown from a local unused trail system. Is the 10" my best option for wrapping it in a towel and throwing it in a backpack?

I have the 16", 40V chainsaw and you could easily fit it in a backpack. Or carry it-it's not that heavy. I've not weighed to be certain, but I suspect the battery weighs almost as much as the chainsaw tool itself.

Seems like the 10' cordless chainsaw with battery and charger is an older version of the one currently on Amazon. I checked Greenworks site and it's $120 so this seem like a good deal.

Sorry, no. You can only use the 24V batteries in 24V tools. The platforms are not cross-compatible.
