For those with or without a naughty mind, you can now get an Escort M2 dash cam that pairs well with your existing Escort Radar detector, or even works standalone (charging cable required).

It includes GPS and a built in SD card, watermarks your video with the "Escort" brand so your viewers know they're getting a good show.

My amazon price alert went off when I found the Escort M2 for as low as $121.

I posted the last deal at $150, but this is the lowest.

It depends if you're more of a siu mai or har gao person nod

I haven't used Viofo personally but I like the M2 really for the shared RJ11 connection which works well with a "mirror tap" for power and shares alongside my radar detector.

The video quality itself is okay, I think google compresses/encodes the video quality but here's a sample: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1...sp=sharing

You can do a mirror tap with USB devices with something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BFRWC3X

I have some other micro USB dash cam, a blueskysea I think, and that's how I have mine connected. Just posting this here because I didn't know these existed when I was researching dash cams.

People still use these things? In SoCal, I see the cops just track behind to clock speeds.

Also, doesn't it mean they already clocked your speed by the time you get an alert?

This is just a dash cam, but in terms of pacing, cops typically enable radar alongside it so you can detect it from miles away assuming they enabled it for another vehicle.

As for stationary laser detection, yeah you're farked. Most are laser now so best solution other than not speeding is to get a laser jammer setup, which is illegal in more states

Do you need to have the detector to pair this? Or can this be used on its own?

Do you need to get a different mount, looks like the mount included is only to buddy up with the detector?

Do you need wiring kit to install? I see a short that is supposed to connect to the detector. If you don't use the detector, is this cable used?
