Use Chase 5% CB for this quarter (wholesale clubs) to sweeten the deal even further

Buy any Wanna Get Away Plus tier ticket, pay with gift card(s), then cancel ticket for refund to account as flight credit.

But why? It's probably easiest to keep track of one gift card that can be used for anyone, rather than have Southwest cancel credit( travel funds) tied to one person, and additionally saving all the cancelled confirmation numbers. Southwest does not have any easy way to look up your total accumulated flight funds in one location under your account.

Anyone know what happens if you order more than 2 across multiple orders?
In the past, the additional orders would get cancelled. There have also been some fiasco cases where the first order was cancelled as well, and the system did not automatically update to allow making a new order within the limit. I wouldn't recommend trying to skirt the order limit under one member account.

I have SW chase cc and it is not showing under the offers tab. (Sad)
Will not work on SWA cards, only the Chase Freedom Flex card for this quarter.

You guys are going to trigger SW to change their liberal policies with these tactics. Just keep the damn gift card until you need to book your actual flight.

How can I get the 5%? Is that through the Chase offers tab?

Log in to your account and select your Freedom or Freedom Flex card, then look for a line about quarterly 5% cashback. On the app it's right after the transactions section, on the website it's under your Ultimate Rewards points balance.

- For every example you give out of SAC, I can find a ton more out of MDW, and even ORD or MKE where SW has better fares...except maybe craptasic airlines such as Spirit.

.
My example is from the airport I would fly out of. I don't care about the prices in other parts of the US lol. If flying out of Sacramento is more expensive with SW than other airlines, I'll just skip this. But if there is some deals that pop up throughout the year, then I'd be interested. That's why I'm asking if there are deals that pop up with SW.

Quote from dirtpeople :
By SAC I'm assuming you mean SMF. Can you post that Hawaiin airlines deal because I only see KOA as a cheap destination? $211 RT from SMF to anywhere in Hawaii is great, especially if they're NS, which they usually aren't.

Yes. Sacramento. SAC to Hilo. Google flights. [google.com] Those are just the dates google gave me and when comparing to SW it's about half the price.

Quote from luvkush :
I'm assuming you meant Sacramento, right? I have been living in Sacramento for last 16 years and I have not flown any other airline other than Southwest. You will find good deals from SMF regularly and also we have all the Bay area airports near by.
So wait for deals, not normal prices? Cause like I said, everywhere I checked, SW is equal or more expensive.

Thanks everyone!

Yep, that's a one stop flight making for a long day, and not a (one of my) preferred destination when compared to other islands. If you're looking to go to HI via SW, your best bet is flying out of Oakland when they're running Hawaii fare specials (like a couple weeks ago). Maui or Kauai nonstop was under $150 RT on Southwest, and not just their typical Tuesday/Wednesday fares. Alaska flies to HI pretty cheap from the bay area as well, and their sales somewhat coincide. Hawaiian sometimes matches fare sales.

SMF to
Boise? Alaska or Delta is usually the cheapest.
Seattle? Depends. Alaska and SW are usually the cheapest.
San Diego? SW dominates that route. Even now their "sale" has $49 fares.
Vegas? Varies. Just did SW and it was the cheapest on my specific travel dates, and needed the WGA+ flexibility for the return.
Spokane? Just flew up on SW, back on Alaska.
Phoneix? Depends. Usually SW or American.

If your dates are restricted you get what you get and many deal threads are pointless for those flyers, other than to come in and fuss over nothing being available for their specific dates. Point is, if you're flexible, there's SW deals to be had. If you can combine this somewhat frequent gift card deal with the taking a family of four to Maui from Oakland on SW during a fare sale, then there's quite the additional savings to be had. Lodging is never cheap on the islands so I like to save what I can on the flights. Keep in mind which airlines include bags. If you can get away with a carry on, some airlines can be a better deal.

It was the same as Sam's Club back in March that I bought.
