If you just need the cheapest cooler possible, and are willing to deal with the mail in rebate, this is an okay deal. That being said, this is a rather unimpressive cooler by modern standards. While it will likely not be a major issue for budget cpus with 6 cores or fewer, using this cooler with any modern low mid-range or higher cpu (particularly intel cpus) will likely lead to excessive thermal throttling under full load. Since an air cooler can easily be used for many years without being replaced, I personally highly recommend spending a bit more for far better performance. My personal recommendation is the thermalright phantom spirit, an air cooler with top tier performance that is sold on amazon for under $40 (without dealing with a mail in rebate).

The thermalright phantom spirit is thermalright's successor to the immensely popular peerless assassin. While the thermalright peerless assassin at $35 has more or less been my default recommendation for a while, the new thermalright phantom spirit is actually mildly superior while occupying the same price bracket. The phantom spirit is $37.90 on amazon at the moment, while the peerless assassin is $4 cheaper at $33.90. Here's a link to the amazon page for the phantom spirit: https://www.amazon.com/Thermalrig...95-9434839

For anyone that wants to avoid the "rebate deal" of this and is okay with paying $4 more, may I recommend the Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 V2. It's currently $16.99 on Amazon.

I've had my Evo 212 running for almost a decade, I think the deep cool and peerless assassin score higher nowadays with similar price points without rebate.

Was good back 10 years ago but now it is no longer worth the price for a modern system. Get peerless assassin instead. Also cooler master support is terrible. Yea it is cheap but cooling performance won't keep up much longer.

Just a heads up, if you pay taxes in your state and have a Payboo Card, BHPhotoVideo would likely be the cheaper option as the rebate also applies for BH.

i'd pick one up as an extra if it wasn't for the MIR. these can't keep up with modern high end chips anymore. still great for anything under 100w tdp imo

Hmmm, I have a 10 year old Hyper 212 Evo that I never even used. Other than the RGB, would this one likely be any better?

the only thing that would make it better is if the older one doesn't have the right bracket for the socket you are trying to use. otherwise money would be better spent on a new fan for the old tower ie arctic p12

Good deal, but I will pass. My last cooler master rebate got stolen somewhere in the USPS system. Showed that it was out for delivery via informed delivery, but never received it. Not sure who is at fault there, but now I can't help but not trust my mailman...
