Same price as it was on 8/4 when I bought one. With 2% executive and 2% CC this is costing about $1862. Right now spot is about $1872. APMEX is selling these for $2005 (for bank or wire payments)

- it's a PAMP bar, so it's not a government mint but extremely reputable, which is why there's a higher premium for it than XYZ mint bullion
- From a product perspective, Costco is selling it for cheaper than reputable competitors
- It's Costco so the seller is reputable
- if you have executive and CC you can get it for even under current spot

Not commenting on the "investing" angle of gold, that's a big rabbit hole.

If you have Costco Executive you get 2% back and if you have Chase Freedom 5% upto $1500 - max of $75. So $1939.99 - $38.79 (2% exec) - $75 (5% upto max of $75 for chase freedom) = $1826.19. Spot is $1872.

If you don't have the Chase Freedom, you can use Costco CitiCard to get 2%. So $1939.99 - $77.59 (2% executive + 2% citicard) = $1862.39.

If you're buying gold as an "investment" you're doing it wrong.

5% on freedom is max of $1500 in purchases. Technically that is 3.8% so its 5.8% counting the costco 2% exec rebate + 3.8% of the chase freedom rebate.

Yes it's 5% on some cards Q4, but there's a cap. Frankly not worth it to me to chase that extra couple percent, when I don't own one of those cards.

2 different freedom cards means $3000 total if you bought $3000 in costco cash and used that cash for this purchase.

Got it, so you got $3k in costco cash first and then used it to purchase this, makes sense.
