are these good speakers? would this or a samsung soundbar+sub set up be better
These are small speakers - probably ok for a bedroom. This is a budget system, still needs a receiver. Mono price makes good products.
Check out Reddit groups - there's the snobs that will say any 2+ speaker system will beat out a sound bar, while others will say it's an exaggeration.
The Samsung sound bar that's been going "on sale" q990 or 910 (no satellites included) looks really tempting, still $500+. You can get a pretty nice used HT setup for that price if you do a lil searching.
I'm in the process of switching from sound bar. Had to put up bookshelves to hold speakers and receiver - it also gave my room much needed storage space. Also the equipment can easily take over the look of the room - so gotta consider that.

dam i wonder how these sound compared to the samsung q800c soundbar + 9500s rear speakers that i bought "on sale" for about $600 total w/out tax, which are also 5.1.4 when combined
