Really, I think Fender should be removed from the title entirely, as every model in the list is a Squier. It's not that Squiers are bad, but alerts and searches for "Fender" and "Guitar" are going to turn up this entry. It's not what those people are looking for.
To be fair, it is FENDER and their website. No different than ESP LTD, imo.
That said, the XII is really fun. But the Sonic and Affinity lines are notorious for sharp fret edges and cheap electronics so keep in mind if you're unable to handle those yourself.
Can confirm 10% off with Fender Play works. $309 for the Strat-o-Sonic is hella tempting. Though I doubt i play it much considering i barely play my Gibson LP Special.
It's worth noting that Fender's return policy at fender.com isn't particularly generous. If it's really defective, you're okay, but simply not liking the guitar means you're going to pay the return shipping as well as the cost of the original free shipping.

Got the purple bronco and graffiti yellow strat. Still trying to get my girlfriend to play bass regularly. Hoping to transform the bronco into something kuromi-inspired and the strat into a delonge on a budget.
My joke about the Strat with one pickup and a hardtail is... By the time I bought parts and did all the work to mod it then I could have just bought a great $60 guitar!
I bought the yellow Sonic Strat to Delonge-ify a couple months ago, and it exceeded expectation in every way. The strings were bad and needed replacing pretty much immediately, but the fretwork and neck was good and it sounds and played well. Very light if that matters to you.
If you are a Fender Play member, you should save an additional 10% as well.
What parts did you buy in addition to this sonic Strat? I bought this too to make my own Tom DeLong Strat
Honestly, I feel like Squier nailed it with the regular colors on most of these models (though that graffiti yellow is pretty sick). That pink Rascal was calling my name, though, so my credit card company thanks you for the post. I did get a 3% bonus using Capital One shopping, and the extra 10% Fender Play discount stacking was a nice surprise, too.
May I ask how does one qualify for the Fender Play discount?

Fender Play is Fender's online subscription service for instructional videos, and one of the perks is a 10% discount on merch from their website. Sometimes the 10% won't stack with deals like this, but usually it does. The service is pretty expensive for what you get, but a couple of times a year they'll run some kind of promo that makes it a no-brainer. For instance, I got a year's subscription for $15, and I can't believe how much money it's saved me in gear.
Yes, and they do say "by Fender" on them, albeit it smaller print.
Weirdly, my squier bullet tele plays great and seems as good or better than some of the fender teles I have played in music stores, which I'm just to cheap to pay for a fender. Bullets are supposed to be a budget line of squiers, and I've played some that seemed fairly cheap. Not sure why mine is so nice.
My Bullet plays great, too. It could use better tuners, and needed minor attention to the frets. Wasn't bad when I picked it up for $100 from GC a couple of years before covid.

Squiers can be amazing, even the sonic and bullet series. But one of the big things is consistency. While every guitar varies, even the high end ones, the squires can vary wildly in my experience. You can get one that's as nice as a Fender Ultra, or one that's as messed up as a $50 amazon special. I've had both. The higher end Squires get more consistently good, like the Classic Vibes and 40th Anniversary versions.

I got one of the deals where they were giving a free Bullet Stratocaster and amp kit with the subscription then gave the guitar to my niece after fixing it up.
If you're not hoping to stack the 10% on to sales like this, you can usually get 10% off everything Fender from all of the major retailers. Some do it automatically like Musician's Friend, others you have to chat / call and ask for.
And sometimes you can get even more off. I just picked up the Tone Master Pro for $1,499 from Sam Ash by simply asking for a discount in chat. At Fender with discount it would have been $1,529. Not a huge difference, but Sam Ash also gave me 24 month 0% financing.

Mannn.. I should send you a bill for giving me this idea.
Just ordered the Sonic HT H to do the same to.
