This is a lot of instrument for $130 shipped. It's well made and sounds good. I got the purple one for my daughter on a prior deal.

Microoooo 7 inches smaller less tension … Ibanez usually has flaws on the frets it's annoying.

I'd bite if it wasn't black it's gonna smudge like crazy (Ibanez feature) and it just looks so boring. The only worse color is the sunburst that looks like a 1970s garage band.
Ibanez usually does not have flaws on the frets. It's annoying to hear someone suggest something so ludicrous. Black doesn't smudge any more than any other color because it has a thick clearlcoat like the other colors. Learn to wipe your instrument clean after playing = problem solved. And the blue and purple versions of this have been available on this site, this year, for the same price. Where have you been?

And do the math. It's not 7 inches smaller. Tension is not an issue when using the short scale strings it comes with (I use Thomastik Infeld JF324's on mine and they, like the frets, are flawless).

Love my mikro bass, except mine is in flat walnut. I call him "Lil' Nutty". Ibanez also makes a mikro bass branded soft case.

I own one of these and my only complaint is as someone else mentioned, less tension. If you start playing moderately aggressively you'll be slapping the strings on the body. A full size is a lot more forgiving. that could be seen as good or bad.

Wouldn't thicker strings help alleviate this somewhat?

I bought a black Mikro on a whim when I saw Adorama's sale on them here on SD exactly a year ago today. It kick started my bass journey and has been fantastic. I've purchased other basses since, but the Mikro is still my favorite and gets played the most.

I bought 2 more since then to experiment with different strings and different setups.

This is a great bass guitar for a kid. I started my 8. Year old on it last year and it's been great.

You can learn to play, it could be used professionally after a setup, the output is pretty much indistinguishable from a very expensive bass to a trained listener in a mix or live session. The player really makes the bass lock in and come alive and it's demonstrated it all over video that this instrument is capable of handling that.

Shorter scale length has advantages and disadvantages, but for a lot of people, it's a net positive for ergonomics and playability. Sound wise, short scale basses sound bigger and deeper as the shorter strings have less loud harmonics and more fundamental than long scale basses.

It's $130. That makes it a supreme value position in all of music instruments.

Fantastic bass. I bought it at $200 and was happy with that price. Upgrade the tuning heads and get it set up properly (or do it yourself) and it will sound even better.
