Make sure sold by Walmart and not a 3rd party seller when buying on Walmart.com.
I guess I'm assuming he bought it at walmart.com and not a physical store.

Regardless, I guess it's better to verify. Serial number on box, serial number on charge case and serial on each earpiece (these will be different but should match what's reported on phone).

So ppl buy real airpods, replace them with fakes, reseal the box so it looks factory sealed, and return them for a refund? Isn't there a strip you have to tear to open the box that's under the shrink wrap?
This is all assuming the airpods the guy in the previous post bought were sealed, since I'm fairly certain walmart doesn't sell opened items like this in the first place.
I know walmart has gotten more careful about returns. They completely opened up an apple watch box I returned recently and compared whatever was written on the watch with what was on the box.
