Of course, I purchased a qualifying item two days ago. I would just reorder but the size I need is now sold out. Has anyone had the Adidas Ebay store do a price adjustment?

Thanks, I figured that was the case. I found another pair of shoes for him that gets both discounts, so maybe I will just return the first ones once they finally are delivered. Will also keep an eye on them in case they restock his size.

The FALL40SALE is an in-cart discount that only applies to specific items. If you don't see it when you add to cart, it doesn't apply to that item.

I went to the main ebay page, clicked on the Headstart 20% promo link, then filtered down to Adidas. Every shoe that I looked at displayed the 40% off at the top and the "take an extra 20% off this product" below the add to cart button.

Said another way, from what I looked at every headstart Adidas item was also a fall40sale item and those stack. Not every fall40sale item is a headstart item. This ends up being a 52% discount.

It still works - you just have to find items that qualify for both promotions. I bought three pairs of shoes for my kids (Adidas shoes sold by Adidas under the HEADSTART promotion.)
