Yay! I can't believe it worked for me but it did. I've had at least 6 free trials of Audible through the years.

So it says the next credit is november 30th, do I just wait till then and cancel? Also, it say my credit for October is good till October 2024, does that mean the credit is good till 2024 even after I cancel?

You need to wait until you get and use your second credit to cancel. If you cancel now, you won't get a second credit. And your credit is only good until oct 2024 if you have a paid account. You'll want to use both credits before you cancel.

If you don't think you'll use the credits before the two months is up, you can put the account on hold for up to 3 months to give yourself more time to use them. Do that after you get the 2nd credit. First, make yourself an email reminder to go in shortly after your second credit drops and put the account on hold. Then make another reminder for when the account will become active again so you can make sure to use any credits left, then cancel before you get charged full price. So let's say you put the account on hold two weeks before the free trial was going to end. You put it on hold the max time, which I think is still 3 months. When that 3 months is up and your account reactivates, you still have two weeks of the free trial left before you get charged (your account will show you when the next date you'll be charged is).

When the account is on hold, you can still spend your credits and I think you still get the extra discount and sales paid members get. The one thing you won't have is access to selections from the streaming library members can listen to for free, but you'd lose that if you cancelled, anyway.

I got my second credit but I don't see the pause option anywhere. I went to my account and there should be a pause option but I don't see it.

From their help section "You're only eligible to pause after 30 days of paid membership."

I guess my free membership is not considered paid?

Over the spring or summer I was able to pause a free trial on my mom's account. I just now did a search, and found one person commenting they took away the "pause membership" button in August. It's not even there for my husband's account, and he is a fully paid member with an annual membership, so this has nothing to do with paid or trial. It used to be on your account page, between "switch membership" and "cancel membership". The Audible help section still says you can pause it on the account page, which is incorrect. A-holes didn't even update their support page in all these months. You'll probably have to contact CS to see if they can pause if for you, if it's worth the trouble to you. I'll have to decide if it is for me, but it's probably easier to just use my credit and quit before membership renews.
