Interesting but I'm not sure this is almost $600 better than the OnePlus 11 256

Seeing the same price on my end. Ends up at $550 after tax for me when trading in a Fold 4. I did sign up for the $50 coupon last week, however it says the coupon isn't eligible for the order even though its meant to be a $50 off coupon for the Open?

This used to be a value brand with good hardware. Now they are still a value brand but selling at premium price.

Not sure how many they think they are going to sell at $1700.

Also, is there a price floor for these mobile phones? All of them selling for so much with virtually identical year after year.

Edit: Correct price.

Not many. When you factor in OnePlus'
  • poor customer support
  • dodgy trade-in process
  • spotty, late, bug filled software updates, and
  • poor future trade-in values (OnePlus phones are worth almost nothing when trading in for Apple, Samsung, Pixel)
Even at this "discount", it's vastly overpriced. I'll wait until the $600 fire sale in six months.

I'm in the same boat as you, considering to trade in a Fold4, but not sure if I want to pay that much difference. What made you look into the Open? Any specific feature?

I also can't use the $50 and I think this is because we're using the student discount. You should be able to use it without the student discount which is a bummer!

Form factor and weight were definitely the two biggest draws for me. I don't dislike my Fold, but wanted something wider/larger but also a bit less heavy. The OnePlus seems to accomplish that. It also has the added benefits of improved camera hardware, battery size, and charging speed. Only thing I dislike is the removal of wireless charging, but itself not a biggie for me. Not sure I want to drop $550 on one, although over 24 months its not a big issue. My last OnePlus was a 7T, which I enjoyed, however I'm not a huge fan of the current OxygenOS software.

It is charging tax on the full amount for me and then deducting the trade-in credit.

Also, add the OnePlus Pad to the cart before adding the phone and it will include the keyboard for free. It's only $265 with the student discount with the keyboard case included.

I think this depend on what state you are shipping to because of differing state laws.

Not terrible preorder bonuses. I have a fold5. I couldn't even consider the pixel fold because Samsung's preorder bonuses are insane. The pixel fold has hardly had any deals and is still holding it's value on ebay.

Taxes on the full amount with this OnePlus deal. No taxes on the full amount last week on the Spectrum pixel 8 pro deal. It's not the state it's how the company sets up these discounts.
