Take on the role of Yuito Sumeragi, a new recruit to the OSF aiming to become an elite psionic like the one who saved him as a child. Armed with a talent in psycho-kinesis, explore the futuristic city of New Himuka and uncover the mysteries of a Brain Punk future caught between technology and psychic abilities in SCARLET NEXUS.
For $5 I'll add it to my backlog and never get to it. 😂
I had a great time with this game! Great combat and I love that you basically share the abilities of whoever is in your party. Story is a little darker than I would have imagined but overall good time and a no-brainer at $5.

The enemy designs are pretty weird and the story turns dark very quickly, but the combat is fun, varied, and challenging enough that I never got bored. There are two distinct characters to play, Kasane Randall and Yuito Sumeragi. I played through Kasane's story and started over with Yuito's almost immediately.
It is all linear environments, but I really enjoyed swapping party members to take advantage of their talents in different battles and never felt like I was always spamming a specific talent to win because that doesn't always work. There is also some "party affinity building" to do so you can learn new skills and become more effective in battle.
There is definitely $5 worth of fun in this game. It's not one of those shovelware pieces where everything is just broken (difficulty, acting, story, controls, graphics, etc.) but it definitely got less attention in the US because of the release timing.
This is more or likely how all the gamestop stores get rid of their gutted(opened) copies they sell as new. When its ordered online likely a 95% chance of it being gutted, only way to demand sealed is to watch them in store or just have it delivered to a store. You can always return a gutted copy you get in the mail, but saves you time if your already at the store when you realize it is

They wouldn't let me return an open copy of a "new" game..I raised hell until they exchanged it..gamestop is shady..buyer beware

Its funny how every other retailer can manage to keep new games sealed.
Also, I have received obviously used "new" copies, last was a switch game, where the case was dirty and so was the cartridge, I only kept it because they always screw up returns, and when I returned other items from the order, they refunded me more than I paid, their whole system is broken, but not always to their advantage
Gamestop was having a bunch of games on sale, so I snagged this and 5 others, although the site says the ones I bought were new, all of them was pretty much opened with a flimsy tape acting as a seal and the sale % sticker on it haha. I saw sticker residue on the cover I assume should have been cover display. One had a crumpled up pamphlet in it, another should have had art cards inside if it was a new launch day edition game (was missing to my dismay), and some other things I noticed. Overall, for the big discount, it may be worth for some, just note 79$ minimum if you want free shipping.
