Product Name: | Resident Evil Village - Xbox Series X |
Product Description: | Experience survival horror like never before in Resident Evil Village on Xbox. Elevate each desperate fight to survive by showcasing the most realistic and terrifying graphics to date. The all-new title is the eighth major installment in the storied Resident Evil franchise, which established the survival horror genre nearly 25 years ago. The title is currently in development using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, used to create vivid gameplay experiences in hit titles such as Resident Evil™ 7 biohazard, Resident Evil™ 2, Resident Evil™ 3, and Devil May Cry™ 5. With hyper-detailed graphics, intense first-person action and masterful storytelling, the terror has never felt more realistic and inescapable. Set a few years after the horrifying events in the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan Winters and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again. Chris Redfield, the legendary hero from the Resident Evil series, is reacquainted with the couple and horribly disrupts their life, spiraling Ethan into chaos. A devastated Ethan finds himself in a remote snow-capped village seeking answers after being thrown into an entirely new nightmare. |

Resident Evil 8 Village builds off the characters and story events introduced in RE7. I do think that you could jump straight into the newest resident evil, and not have trouble following along with what's going on, and feel plenty motivated to play the game, however, if you like, knowing backstory on things, it's kind of nice that you only have to go back one game to Basically know everything that's going on.
The classic resident evil games are about a pharmaceutical company-made virus that creates "bio weapons" (basically zombies and mutations), and offer a gameplay about mystery and having enough inventory supplies to get through. and those old games, there's often not enough ammo or fast gunplay to kill all enemies, and it's better to run by and evade. They have great replay value too! Prominent landmarks in gaming history. Resident Evil 4 is kind of a reboot, with parasites and new enemies (Illuminati) only loosely connected to the originals.
I think 7 & 8 are great games, a great way to see if you like these games. And if you want more, you can feast! Itchy, but tasty!
Visuals and gameplay has been top notch. Play with headphones or good surround sound will give you the spooks for sure.

There's two things… Microsoft LIVE Gold membership (which is now part of their Gamepass rental service), and then Resident Evil has released "Gold Edition" that includes DLCs and bonuses (basically, Game of the Year edition without being pretentious enough to claim their game was rated the best game).

Thanks for the info! I also enjoyed playing 7 and 8 although I prefer 8 a bit more.
