Got one of these as my first electric the last time it was on sale. Stock it's decent. First mod I did was throw a $15 TUSQ nut on it and it holds tune great now. After that I put a $35 Guitar Fetish loaded pick guard on it. Since the guitar was so cheap I wasn't worried about messing it up with changing the nut and following some YouTube videos to give it a setup myself. Was a good learning experience and the guitar is great now.

How do the Guitar Fetish parts compare to what came out of it? Objectively better or a matter of preference?

The pickups sound a little better. The ribbon around the Indio humbucker was coming off so that was annoying. When I tried pulling the knobs off the pots to remove the plastic from the pick guard one of the pots broke and it would just turn endlessly. The GF ones are a higher quality.

What Nut did you buy? I was thinking about upgrading my Indio Classic Tele.

This deal makes me wish that I didn't already have as many guitars as I did - amazing value for a very decent guitar and gig bag!

Is your loaded pick guard an hss or sss, can you put an sss in this hss?

I went with HSS. SSS should fit just fine as it has the "swimming pool" cavity.
