It's back! Don't hesitate.

You can get decent strat copy new for about $69 shipped; but for $5 more here you get a thicker gig bag, mainly a humbucker and a rock solid return policy, for any reason. Know first; but if you change your mind then just return it. Monoprice is a known seller. eBay, wish and Temu is fine but you better vet your sellers and policies.

With a +$10 matching TUSQ nut you can perfect the fine balances of "TRAIN" super setup and the floating trem. Do not lock it down; but optional. Keeping low action, tune return(with new and stretched Ernie Ball 9's), and no fret buzz doing it. The frets are fine and if you have to smooth them more then so what? YOU WIN!

Is this produced by slave labor? Even shipping and materials alone would seem to be more than $69.

Cheapest actually good amps are the Monoprice 15w and 5w tube amps. Personally I'd spring for the 15w because it has a much better speaker, tone control, and reverb. I still use mine even though I've been playing 20 years. The 5w is still great, I just feel the 15w is worth the upgrade. And you likely wont need to replace it for years, it's plenty loud and versatile.

Train is an acronym for setting up a guitar in the correct order. While good info, most of the people looking to buy guitar in this price range is just foreign to them.

Bottom line it's a well built entry level guitar that plays well and sounds good for the money...especially for $75.

Nothing great in that price range. Black Star fly amps are decent as are the Positive Spark series of small amps. If you're looking for a bigger amp, if you can swing into the boss katana series, your kid will be styling

It will sound terrible and they won't want to practice on it. If you need to go that cheap I would say go with a headphone amp. It will sound way better than a cheap tiny amp. Plus they can play without disturbing others.

+1 for the 15w Monoprice amp. It sounds like a much more expensive amp than it is. Sounds like an old Princeton Fender I use to have.

Just getting started in guitar with an acoustic but want to get into playing electric. How would this sound trying to play metal? Pantera and stuff like that.

Any guitar can play any genre. Metal is usually (but not always!) played on humbuckers, which this one has in the bridge. Just set the pickup switch to bridge and play whatever you like. You might have to tune it down a whole step for some Pantera songs but those included strings should be fine for that.

Got a the Strat and Tele version of these awhile back for like 60 bucks. They are guitars that make sound, but you can definitely tell they are ultra budget guitars.
Gonna donate mine to a kids music program or something

I might spend $100 more and get a Squire. I got a Squire Affinity Telecaster for $150 last black friday and it is an awesome instrument

So what exactly can you tell is so ultra bad, compared to your Affinity? Same wood, shape, and the parts are fine on both. A better setup? See a YT video about T.R.A.I.N.

T>une (Slightly different method with a floating up and down Trem. And easy. See a video on tremolo bar setup.)
R>od: As in Truss rod in small 1/4 turn increments.
A>ction: String heights.
I>ntonation: Global tune. Check your 12th fret matches you open strings. Turn direction is counter intuitive; because you retune after changing a strings intonation.
N>oodle LOL. Play it in, Then do TRAIN two more times. It's about the balances.

I could have bought a used Affinity and it was black too, for $125. Before C19. I bought a $68 SSS strat (Sunburst, w/grain) that I added a $10 (had $9 off) TUSQ slippery nut to and it's awesome.

I just think it's funny; as all the parts are about the same. Colors and head-stock shape are mere preferences.

I'm sure Steve Via couldn't play well on either one of them, Not.

Note: People are saying these come setup just fine. There always more you can do, fret sprout sometimes on newly made necks and playing style preferences that effect a super setup. Super because besides T.R;A.I.N. you can work with the nut heights and cut, to perfect a no buzzing low action. Which can be really low, for a Strat. And floor your pups for sustain (about a millimeter over the pick guard, and slightly more toward the bridge and Fat E string #6). Bar fret your 15th to 22nd fret al the way across (Capo?) and observe string heights over the pickups. balance them for same volume and just enough height to not buzz. This assumes your frets are level, nut is optimal(a big deal) and weather has not bent your neck.
