I'd like to comment on the quality of the 2nd gen of Ridgid tool box. I have the 1st gen, DeWalt 1 and 2nd gen tough system and the Milwaukee pack out.

I found that the 2nd gen of Ridgid tool is a little thinner and the top cover used to have a 2nd layer inside to reinforce the case, it is now gone also.

Out of all the ones. I have, Milwaukee really has best overall in terms of size and quality. Ridgid 1st Gen offer decent value and quality... I have questions on 2nd gen

No. That was the 1.0 which has been discontinued. That was $100 around a year ago for the last time. This 2.0 set of 3 was $138 or $139 (if buy separately) the last few times on sale. I got it in store around Father's day, paid with 15% off gift cards, and received 11% rebate. So my set was close to $100.

Is this the same set that sometimes sells for 100 for all 3 pieces around bf and fathers day - or is that a lesser non-pro model?

Maybe I've the 0.5 version - but the entire set was $70 on BF 3-4 years back and I got 3 sets. At double the price now - it is a ripoff.

All terrain? Not so much if there's mud around.

This.... I was just looking at the lineup wondering why they haven't yet.

I'll take a guess. Trying to cost effectively make drawers that don't beeak out of plastic simply isn't happening.

Does Ridgid lifetime coverage cover these? I'm having a hard time understanding the value of plastic in this context.

Drawers are coming soon. There's a teaser by a popular tool reviewer that Ridgid gave early access if you Google Ridgid drawers.

I've been quite pleased with the quality of these boxes. I've spent more time than I'd like to admit testing these out in the store; they're no Packout, but they seem to be much better than Dewalt's offering IMHO. Big selling point for me is the included wall mounts. If I want to mount Packout on the wall I need to buy the shelving unit separately, and even then it's not the most elegant solution as far as I'm concerned.

Bottom line, good bang for your buck.

I was wondering this too, as it's my primary reason for using Rigid products. According to the product description and Q&A section on the website they come with a "Limited Lifetime Warranty", which is different than the standard Rigid Lifetime Service Agreement (LSA), and these are serviced through a different manufacturer, Keter, via www.keter.com. [EDIT: Don't buy a Keter shed! They are paper thin and garbage, but if you do, they will honor the warranty if you have your receipt], so I don't have an issue with it being warrantied through them instead of under the Rigid LSA.

So, $20 off the 25" All Terrain Rolling Tool Cart doesn't seem like a very slick deal. Should we expect a lower price around Black Friday or is this as good as it gets?

But what isn't covered?

I'm with Ridgid for the same reason. The LSA seems to be fairly broad and inclusive, as opposed to a long list of "we don't cover this..."

I'm wondering if Keter is as good?

Seems like a good warranty.
