Can't get free shipping even with the Scorecard account. Looks like $50 minimum is needed. Anyone manage to get free shipping without having to spend $50?

Honestly I think that depends how long you run for, I own both and after a couple of miles I can feel a slight discomfort when using the Trace and by the end of 3 miles they become really uncomfortable, I don't have this problem with the ghost. Brooks are my favorite shoes and both types are worth the money, but I just wanted to share my experience.

I agree completely. If you run, and I mean really run, stick with ghost. I don't run much anymore (I'm getting older lol) so for walking and daily wear, these are just fine. I walk about 3 miles without issue, wear them all day at the local amusement park, again, no issue.

Just received mine today and they are in no way comparable to the ghost in terms of cushioning. Touting these as some lower cost version of the ghost seems disingenuous, they feel like any other stiff sneaker to me.
