Was there a deal on the G2724D?

It's currently on sale for $270. Its peak SDR brightness is around 440 nits and it goes up to 165Hz refresh rate. I bought it for less than that with AmEx Dell credits (it wasn't on sale at the time but worked out to $200 plus tax).
If you need a brighter monitor and don't care about the slightly lower refresh rate, it might be worth the extra money. Or, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are close so prices might be better soon.
Here's a good review for it: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...tuf-vg27aq
That's a benefit, normally turn the brightness down on an IPS the moment you get it in the first place. Those really bright panels are terrible for eye strain
If you're trying to utilize HDR you need at least 400 nits. It depends on what you're using it for.
