Best tip I have for getting a deal on this is to add a deal alert for 'amazon warehouse' then you can get an extra 20% off a used one, likely to happen this BlackFriday/CyberMonday. In combo with using your prime card to gain 5% back, you can net down to around $340.

Also, the used one arrived unused, but in non-retail packaging.

It has been this price for quite some time, at least on Amazon.

Great machine but I don't like it's height, you must use low espresso cups only.

Eh? I can fit a 12oz tumbler that's 4.5" tall—may have to tilt ever so slightly, but never spilled an ounce, even with an extended shot extraction. I use it daily for americanos.

Once you get used to it, it's actually pretty fast .

Isn't this an old model now that the express impress is out?

Seeing as how the human nervous system is backwards compatible with the espresso made by this model, it's a non-issue.

I've been using mine since 2018 every day and this machine is truly flawless, given you maintain and clean it when you're given the signal.

365 days * $6/cup of coffee * 5 years
=$10,950 savings just for making GOOD coffee at home.

Best to buy a bottomless portafilter for this machine.

We had several of these at work when I started early 2018 and I bought one for home right when covid started (could be bought at BBB for ~450 back then). I maintained those work machines and they help up very well with regular maintenance and use for 20+ double shots a day. Being a bunch of techies it only took a few of us to keep these fed and dialed in.

The machine is fairly reliable but the flow meter may "go out" (both me and a co worker's personal machines). Fix for that is to take the cover off, twist open the flow meter then put it back together again which will cause it to run for an extended period (year+).

For myself I'm going manual. I tried a flair neo bought dec 2022 and recently replaced with a cafelat barista robot (the correct choice for manual). My wife still uses the barista express, I need to work on getting her moved over.

agreed, best investment ever. once you get used to the process its not that bad to get your coffee running in the mornings and cleaning up.

Why did you decide to go manual? What's the time difference between making an espresso with the two machines?
