Man I remember this coming out in theaters, and my parents also bought me the book, which I still have. A sort of golden age of kids books being made into movies in the late 90's. Matilda, Harriet the Spy, Jumanji, James etc. Come to think of it, that kinda propelled me into enjoying reading as a kid. It was fun seeing a character on screen and then comparing that to what was different in the book. Thanks for bringing me back, Slickdeals.

This was such a strange movie that no one talked about for such a long time I actually wondered if I had really seen it as a child or just imagined it.
