I thought we could start a thread for any streaming deals that may come up, because with the writer's strike, i keep hearing this will drive up costs for streaming platforms.

With streaming prices climbing, do you think this year Hulu will do the $1.99 BF special?

Let's put any deals in one place for easy access and so there aren't 8 threads for streaming deals.

Thanks to folks in the thread I got Peacock with ads for $20, less $6 via Amex offer. I am set for the Olympics! Which, we found out during the last Olympics that when you buy the highest price Peacock plan you STILL get hit with ads during the Olympics! So, cheap is fine.

Does anyone know if a PBS type streaming service is cheap this week? My MIL wants something with English crime dramas. Any ideas?
We watch a lot of PBS stuff, which is really quite good including the crime shows. My wife pays for their Passport service which I think runs $10 per month. Using it, she recently went back to the earliest episodes for past seasons of Annika, Doc Martin, and other shows.I think your MIL would enjoy this.

BTW, new seasons of All Things, Miss Scarlett, and Midwife start in January. We have Dish TV and have learned to watch out for the fact that PBS British shows seem to have different dates from here in the US. For example, I usually set the DVR to record only new episodes of many of the shows but the PBS British ones were initially skipped over (unrecorded) because even though Annika, for example, just finished its last episode of the season about a week ago, when you look at the date in the description, it was something like six months ago. Same thing for their other shows. As a result, each week I use the program guide to look ahead and manually set the timers for the "new to us in the US" episodes. Can't just tell the DVR to record all new episodes of a British show on PBS. Might be unique to Dish but it is a PITA.

Also recommend Grantchester, Murder Mysteries, and Father Brown (which is not as good of a crime whodunnit but has great countryside views).

None of them work, but it could be because they want everyone to use the Black Friday/cyber Monday deals … roku amazon front page of paramount+ etc. … I'm hoping Dec.4 it will reset and allow the monthly codes

Hi! Happy Almost BF!
It depends on if you were offered this on your Amex offers page and if you accepted it.
If you were not offered it, it will not work. Check all your cards. It was only on one of mine (Platinum) and then I had to accept the offer to get it to work. Like other offers, if you accepted it and you used it, it should trigger a "You just used your offer" email.
Hope that helps as you are always super helpful! Smilie
PS; If you didn't see/accept it, do it now and it should apply for 6 more months.

Okay got the $7 credit btw and essentially had to do nothing so I am paying $4.64 for the Hulu and Disney without Ads bundle. I hope they dont F with the pricing more but I think I am good for now.

That's great! I was able to score Peacock with ads Mad for $12 for the year using my Amex. Since they put ads on the Olympics no matter WHAT level you buy, I'm ok. $1 a month is about what it's worth! LMAO

Happy holidays friend! Peace

These streaming deals are stacking up nicely! The Hulu and Disney+ combo for $3 is a great value if you don't mind ads. HBO Max at $2.99 for six months is a solid short-term option too, especially for fans of their content. Plus, the Verizon promotion with free Netflix Premium is a huge bonus for Xbox gamers—who doesn't love getting a premium service for free? Peacock at $19.99 for a year might be worth locking in if you want to catch up on exclusive shows, and Britbox for $10 over three months is a steal for British TV lovers. It's Black Friday season, so definitely a good time to evaluate your streaming needs

The Peacock BF deal from last year for $19.99 would be nice again. The account I currently have for that deal offers a renewal for $39.99 for a year instead of the regular price of $79.99. I'm not accepting the deal offered.

I just got my Peacock "expiring soon" email an hour ago with a $79.99/yr option. Cancelled my plan (still have access until 11/24) but didn't get any other offer. Like you I'll bite for $20 but no more than that, I'll start taking hikes to enjoy the rivers and streams.

I got the same email for full price despite the offer for $79 99 in my account. I definitely will not renew for full price

SAME! How rude. I swear it is getting so hard to keep track of all the streaming services and how to get a reasonable deal. We just cannot afford regular "cable" tv we had a bill with tv and internet nearing $300.
