If you want to use it for a trade in, you can buy the watch 4 classic for cheaper on eBay. I got one for $60 which I traded in for the watch 6.

Just an FYI: unlike older Galaxy Watches or a Fitbit, these are exclusively Android-only. I feel like Google and Samsung do an awful job of communicating this clearly.

Absolutely! However, if you're male I'd go with the 47mm for the extra battery life. Depends on your arms/tastes laugh out loud
That's not correct iirc. ALL galaxy watch 6 series have the same internals INCLUDING the battery.

Edit: NVM, 47mm in fact has a bigger battery.

About the same battery life... but the battery is larger on the 47. By almost 50% (300mah vs 425). However, once you factor in the larger screen, the battery life is supposed to be comparable. I don't leave my screen on, so I'm hoping to get longer runtime out of the 47mm batter. Just got one yesterday and am trying it out for a week or so before I send in my watch 3.

Edited my post....for some reason when I was researching them I read somewhere they share same internals, including battery...which sounded stupid to me and I ended up buying a regular watch 6. Otherwise I would have bought a 47mm probably. I am still in return period...decisions decisions..

Also keep in mind that a couple features (e.g. ECG) will only work with a Samsung phone, not even another android manufacturer. I found this to be annoying on my Watch 4 Classic since I use a Pixel phone.

Regardless, I've owned the Samsung S3 Frontier and the Watch 4. Both have been great. Love the rotating bezel as others said, big differentiator between brands. And this is purely subjective, but IMO Samsung has the best looking smart watch vs Apple (by far the ugliest) and Google Pixel mainstream alternatives. That said, I'm switching over to the Pixel Watch 2 only because it was free with the Pixel 8 pre-order, just I have a feeling I'll miss the Samsung. $99 for this watch is a good deal for those that are interested.

yes, the internal storage is 16gb, but the wearOS takes about 8gb, so only about 8-9gb is usable for user storage.

What about eBay refurbished? There's one for $110 certified refurbished, which carries a 2 year warranty, vs 90 days for this??

There's also one for $70 rated "good" that carries a one-year warranty.

I've bought 2 galaxy watches through eBay refurbished. I had to use a claim on both of them, but in each case they said I could keep the watch and sent me a check for basically what I spent. And I used the one to get the trade-in $100 off for the watch5 some months ago here.

Quick question: I am planning to use this to trade in for watch 6 to gift to my Father in India but watch 6 shows it supports only selected carrier(T-Mobile, us cellular etc etc). So my question is, does it gonna support Indian sim as well??

For reference, my 47mm has an always on display set and I get about a day and a half out of it. I leave it on at night if I want to do sleep tracking, charge it in the morning, and it's good in about 20 minutes.

The USB C charger that comes with it is nice if you pair it with a 20w charger.

if you don“t mind tinkering with your watch a bit, you can have ECG. I have a OnePlus phone and a Watch 4 and use the ECG when ever I feel my ticker goes offbeat.

Yes and no.. it's been discussed on the Samsung forums though if your carrier can be eligible. Here's the link: https://r2.community.samsung.com/...-p/2907035

I haven't used a samsung watch since the Gear S3 frontier on my iphone, but I picked a watch4 up since Im switching back soon to samsung, is the watch4 good by itself or should I consider what others are doing on here and trade it in for the watch6?

Same software, is it not, assuming its been updated. I'm looking for a reason to move on from the 4 but can't come up with anything that makes financial sense.

Need to buy watch for gifting to elderly who doesnt bother latest watch. Just need to watch steps, sleep and ecg.

1. Should I need to get watch 6 vs this? Any substantial difference 6 brought?

2. Will all feature work on any android phone or do they need to have galaxy watch?

3. Any other alternative suggested?
