There seems to be a campaign lately to insert "news" stories in my feeds containing the most dire warnings about EVs. EVs are awesome and my mind cannot be changed.

lol
1. Cost of capital as exploded (by a factor of 10x or more)
2. Auto strikes have created inventory gluts (Manufacturers built tons of extra cars to 'last through' the strikes)
3. .Gov is about to drop a $7,5000 cap cost reduction on every single EV on the market on Jan
1. You will see that inventory evaporate in about a month.

It's funny when people don't know how to read context.

Been using this set up with 400w solar. It runs my workstation off the sun and also acts as a battery backup. You can plug it in the wall and set it to only use the wall outlet when it's down to a set charge. Even in my case using it 5 days a week and 28¢/kwh electric, it won't pay itself off for at least 10 years, but it's convenient to have.

Is this same product as this deal but $100 cheaper?

Ecoflow has the worst naming standards

About as good of a deal as I've seen recently at $.49/wh. Still just 2kwh but for $1k not bad for latest tech if you need it now.

Batteries are getting cheap as EV demand dies.
...EV demand grows not as fast as many in the auto industry had anticipated.

Got this for $1049 from home Depot a few months ago. Great price and great product. Runs my furnace for the night in the event of a power outage in the Midwest winter.

I wish you luck, and I'm not kidding. Hope you won't see dreading Overload error or 50 HZ error on the night of the event
I've personally used my individual EF Delta 2 fed into a transfer switch to power fridge, furnace blower *~700W), network gear & most of my lights throughout the house simultaneously... it hasn't skipped a beat. 1 - 2 kWh worth of storage (2 kWh total with this kit) is a decent buffer, can get you through shorter outages without skipping a beat. That said, a single D2 probably wouldn't keep my furnace blower going throughout a bitter cold night at or below ~0 f / ~-18 c, at least without allowing the temperature to dip and bundle up a bit.

Point - you'll probably still want a small inverter generator for longer or life-threatening winter outages, dual fuel if possible. ~1600W continuous is good (similar to this D2), but 3200W continuous is best to just casually handle pretty quick recharging rates/pass-through rates for a 120V AC inverter/battery backup/solar MPPT charge controller system like this.

I had 2x 455W panels fed into my D2 on the 2nd day of an outage which definitely helped 'catch' up (having just a tiny '800W' continuous generator at the time). As a note, the 2 panels were run parallel and within rated input voltage range - 500W mppt charge controller in the D2 handles the rest. When overpaneled like this, MPPT charge controllers take what they can and you tend to collect more solar power overall, for longer, in lower light. Would be nice if they had a ~1000W mppt to roughly match what it can charge at via 120V AC. Gotta step up to the ~$3000 Delta Pro for bigger solar input voltage/wattage, at least from Ecoflow.

Care to share a little more about your setup? Like how you ran the wires to your workstation, and how long it takes to charge. Also curious how the power works when you use the computer during the day. I have a similar panel that I'm looking for a way to use. Thank you.

I have the same setup (D2 and transfer switch and optional gas generator) but I decided not to use UPS EPS feature. Too many reports about unit unexpectedly dying. so I keep it charged but unplugged from AC

I've had ecoflow power stations. The delta mini had constant issues and their customer service was awful. Hopefully my River 2 doesn't have issues.

I wouldn't have had such a negative experience… this would be a good deal.
