No, they don't notify you in any way if you are soft-banned. As far as I know, the only way to determine if you are, is if you attempt to apply a coupon and it won't let you (despite everyone else being able to). The sure fire way to determine if you really are is by contacting customer support directly and letting them know that you cannot apply a coupon. (They'll ask you for screenshots of the error). If they tell you that you've broken the Uber terms of use policy, then you definitely are.

I'd like to clarify something I think people might mix up. In Uber Eats, there's a distinction between a Promotion (aka 50% off of orders $20 or more) and an Offer or Deal (a restaurant might have a Buy 1 Get 1 on an item). It's a Promotion ("Coupon") if you can claim it from a code or via a "Claim" button in the Promotions tab in the app.

Offers will work fine since they're provided by the restaurant. But if you are soft-banned, you won't be able to get a rejection in the Cart stage since you aren't able to add Promotions to your account. For existing Promotions that were in your account prior to the ban, however, I don't know what happens exactly. In my experience, the order won't go through all the way and the Promotion I try to use then disappears from my Promotions tab.

I came here to check if anyone else had issues using the promo codes and I guess it looks like a softban.

What terms were breached? How would they know if you dont go to USC and just dont commute there?

Same here. This is such a BS company. Their software team could not solve such a trivial task (checking promo code validity based on location) and they banned their users for exploiting their software bug. Blame your own software team, not ban your users, Dara Khosrowshahi

Not working for me anymore, used it a couple times. I'm not sure if it's because this deal: however, I literally have my .edu email on my account for one of the schools with the promos lol. I'm fairly certain i'm softbanned, I've spent multiple thousands through uber services over the course of 6 years+ but it seems now if I get a wrong item I always get refused a refund and through the support an "account supervisor" told me I had suspicious activity on my account LOL. I also have Uber One annual membership so I guess nobody is safe.

Yes. After the ban occurred, I did not receive any promotions for 2+ weeks. A 50% off appeared in account the other day. Placed an order expecting it to fail, but it went through . I did send a message to support and called as well, but I didn't receive any response so it's unclear if contacting support did anything
