The LED lasts 3-12 months and the replacement LEDs are sold for 3 for $18. For this to be successful in removing flies, place it near the fruits etc and make sure all other lights are off. If the blue light is the sole light bugs notice, this will be very successful. I have connected it to a WiFi plug and set a timer for this to turn ON at 11
