Hilarious! You should try some of them via the Canon EF-RF adapters. They work flawlessly on RF bodies. These lenses are all excellent.

I used mine once in 10 years... Get the 24-70 2.8 II instead. You'll love it. Almost never leaves my camera. This is a great price for that lens. It's a brilliant lens.

These prices are excellent. I'm almost tempted to buy the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM even though I own the Mark II, and there is really no reason to upgrade.

2 diff applications.

100mm if you are into doing macro photography outdoors and food porn pix indoors.

85mm very sharp for portrait, glam shots, headshots, full body, subject isolation (good bokeh).

1X Macro. In terms of macro, either this or the 180mm F3.5 macro, but I already have the 70-200mm F4 IS which feels close enough.

The 2.8 is actually not as good quality in reviews. Research it.
Crazy comment. A full frame 30mp and you would rather have your phone. Ridiculous.
How long have you been doing photography ?
The Canon 24-70 2.8 L lens is one of the best zoom lenses in the world. It's the standard for professional event and wedding photographers and photojournalists.

The 85 and 100mm lenses are very different.
The 85mm with f/1.4 is designed to give you a very pleasing soft focus look for portraits.
The 100mm is a macro, which means it can focus closely, and also it has very flat focus, from corner to corner. You usually don't need sharpness in the edges (think of a portrait), but if you are photographing documents, for instance, you want that.

At 100mm, the macro is best outdoors, like if you photograph flowers or insects.

Yes call them ask for a loyalty discount. Provide them the serial number off the lens you want to upgrade- 10% discount on most refurbished lenses
Thank you. Heard of it, but never actually tried. I assume you have to order over the phone and not getting a code or something for online purchase? Do you provide 1 number for each lens, or is it 1 per order?

I currently have the 85mm 1.8 and I love it. How much of an improvement is the 85mm 1.4?

Nope. Neither one of them have any zoom. They each have multiple prime lenses. The way they fake-zoom is they crop in until they reach the next prime lens. It's basically impossible to fit zoom lenses into them given their size. Even the prime lense they have are relatively simple, relying on designs dating back to the 70s. It's all good though. AI will fix it / upres it all soon.

You just think they are zoom lenses because Apple and Samsung lie about it / misuse the term. And tech reviewers parrott the lies because they want to be invited back for the launch even next year. Quite incredible actually.
I stand corrected, youre right, they have no zoom but rather multiple prime lens cameras and by switching between them in real time creates the feel that its zooming. For example the s23u has a 0.6x, 1x, 3x and 10x camera, and with a combination of digital zoom and switching between them it really does feel like it has an 'optical' zoom (because the optical quality sort of 'resets' at each prime length).

I think my mind was getting mixed up with how the Mfgs use the term zoom.

What I find impressive though are the periscope lenses to get the 10x, and the autofocus and image stabilization systems in these lenses and how small they've gotten them!

Yes indeed. Even reviewers who are clearly in the know say "zoom" these days, so it is confusing. The periscope lenses are nice. Another lie is when apple says 120mm f2.8. That lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is in fact the FF equivalent of 120mm f20! Nobody in their right mind would buy or indeed make a 120mm f20 lens. And the sensor behind that lens is tiny. So the quality is so-so in perfect lighting conditions. Falls apart once light geos away. Samsung's 10x periscope lens is said to be superior. Sadly, the laws of physics keep these telephoto lenses from being great. but fear not, AI is coming to the rescue. That might be one of the reasons why apple and samsung are not putting Sony's IMX 989 1" sensor in their phones. They both use smaller sensors. Other Android phone makers use said 1" sensor. It necessitates a larger camera bump, which Apple / Samsung would not tolerate.

Yes order by phone, no code they will ask for the serial number on your old lens, last I heard they limit it to 3 items to upgrade per 12 months. Canon does change their terms from time to time. Refurbished have the same warranty as new just no retail box

Can these two be stacked? Any way to add the canon upgrade discount on top?

I'll now return to my dream state where the answer to both questions is yes.

That makes sense, although I don't think you can also stack the canon upgrade 10% off because orders have to be done over the phone.
