Getting the Series X on sale now is a good idea. The rumor (from leaked Microsoft Emails) is that the 2024 Series X refresh will be same price but without the optical drive (digital only). Same chipset also just a die shrink so same performance just slightly more energy efficient. If true this could be the last Xbox that can play physical games while at the same time retaining the crown for fastest Xbox (at least for now). It may become a collector's item for those clinging to or otherwise collecting physical games and so I do not expect to be able to find one significantly discounted by waiting.

Download games and uses disc as DRM. Not all OG/360 games are playable, per MS.

DL, but does not matter, once you own the physical copy, you own the game! And the kicker is you can sell it if you want to one day.
