It's a touch screen, backlit keyboard, full HD, and i7. But if you want a low def, non-touch screen, with a Celeron yet 16gb of ram...go ahead spend less. This ram is supposedly upgradeable, none of the other deficiencies I mentioned tend to be. Hard to beat this unless you have a comparable deal to share. I've seen some refurb i5's in this price range but even those are not that common for 2-in-1's.

Correct (if I recall via Id.me). Once verified it stays on your Target account so you do not have to do it again. Pretty painless process actually.
I tried to sign up as a military dependent since my father served in the Air Force. But Target is requesting for documents to be submitted. My father has passed away from Covid and don't have any document showing when he was discharged from the military . So looks like I won't be able to get a military discount as a family member.

Spec: "One memory soldered to systemboard, one DDR4 SO-DIMM slot, dual-channel capable"
It means there is one empty slot for DDR4 SO-DIMM memory. They said you can add 8G for dual-channel, bring a total of 16G.
However, if you add 16G in that slot, it might work but without dual channel.
The manufacturer usually is conservative. I have a 2011 i3 laptop. The spec said max ram is 4G DDR. I put in a 8G DDR3 and it works. I often put in more RAM than the manufacturer's spec and they work.
Where to buy laptop memory? Amazon or Crucial.com. Just find DDR4 SO-DIMM memory

This laptop was $499.99 about two weeks ago. Now it is $449.99 with 10% off with tech offer from Target circle. But the 10% must be used before Nov 18. I really want to wait until Black Friday.
Two years ago, I bought a $150 laptop with the 10% target circle offer in early November. That laptop is slow with no expansion option. Then Black Friday came and I bought another laptop that I really wanted. I ended up buying two laptops within a month. I did not want to return the first one because $135 was really a low price. I installed Ubuntu instead.
