What does "Motion Rate 120" mean? Is it a 120Hz TV or not?

bullshit way of saying 60hz. This is NOT 120hz.

I got the LG 86" for $950 from Costco. Glad I got it then. better brand name, better company +return policy + 1" bigger, + better screen + 120hz

It's crazy to be able to get 85" tv for $750. Prices seem to have gone down fast.

Would of already got this last week, but the brand name keeps us from doing so. I know it isn't 1990 anymore. So different brands have come about, is this Googd for a basic big tv?

Not sure if it still applies, but it used to mean that they stick a black frame inbetween each normal frame. It artificially pumps up the contrast and refresh rate.

Nothing against Hisense, loads of mfg's do/did it.
I just recently got a Hisense 85" U8K and very happy with the mini led, but it's $1k more.

With these 75"+ tvs from HiSense;
Pay $1,500+ for 4 yrs of 6hrs/day use or pay $750 for 2-4yrs of 6hrs/day use is another way to look at it as well.

How did you arrive at those numbers?

I was considering the LG at Costco but unfortunately I've heard horror stories about LG TVs. To be fair, I've also heard horror stories about Hisense TVs but the max warranty I could get on the LG was 3 years so I sprung for the Hisense and a 5 year warranty for $160. I figured I'll have the TV for at least 5 years that way, plus I don't know if I trust how warranty service works on the LG versus Best Buy doing in-home repairs or them picking up and refunding or dropping off a replacement.

I've never had a high end TV and I'm far from an expert when it comes to TV quality but I absolutely love the Hisense so far!

So I know for the future, has anyone had a big Costco TV serviced or replaced under warranty? If I'm expected to take a TV this big anywhere or ship it (even worse), that would be an absolute dealbreaker.

Mathematically, this is still a win. At worst you tie a $1500 TV, at best it is half the price.

I used to chuckle imagining a 8'x10' wall size TV, now I'm thinking it's right around the corner.

With those hourly watch rates, a TV would last me 15 years.
