Deal History
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
Sd'ers thinking this was not a price mistake and Bose experimenting different price points will soon realize it was actually a price mistake when we see bf deals.
This is their new flagship and there is no way they would consider these prices until a new product is on horizon.
This ended up being my top 5 slickest deal all times.
Fantastic deal, woke up hella early and saw this deal, jumped on it and picked them up mid day at a local Walmart. Told a friend and the price was already back to retail. Used them on a zoom call today and they were flawless.
Curious to hear why you think they're better than the Ultra. I'm normally not a Bose person, but this is only for use on flights so anc is my top priority.

A quick rundown from someone who has done too much research on anc headphones:
XM5: acceptable sound, excellent anc, 30 hour battery life, infamous build quality (as with the 4's, the plastic hinges are known to snap and are not covered by the Sony warranty)
QC Ultra: acceptable sound, excellent anc, 24 hour battery life, metal hinges so presumably good build quality
If you're not putting them through their paces you might get your money's worth from the 5's, particularly at $160-$185 used. That said, you'd probably be best off going for the Ultra's-if only because they are significantly smaller when stored in the case. Also, the collapsible case of the XM5's provides less protection than the hard-shell case of the Ultra's.

Thanks for the detailed response! Have both sets sitting here, along with my wife's xm4, will be testing everything out this week to see which one I'm bringing on my looooong flight this weekend.
Packed it up to return. Button placement SUCKS and they're too flush with the ear cups.
Why don't you guys test it out for a couple of days/weeks and let it build muscle memory. I felt the same but it feels fine now after a couple of days.
Holiday return policy is in effect for Walmart so you have until January 31st to return them.

Thanks op
Also my QC35 II are 5 years old and just won't die. Gotta resist for now even though I'd like to finally destroy all my MicroUSB cables.
