Maybe it's my room or ears, but I've had my Arc for about 3 years and have never had an issue hearing dialog over other effects. Rarely do I have to adjust the volume to hear voices only to have to lower it again when the effects pick up, either. I use an Apple TV connected to a Sony OLED as a source. It really has been pretty trouble-free other than that one software update that caused sync issues between the Arc and the Sub and surrounds. Of course I'd rather a full blown receiver and standalone speakers type set up, in fact I had that before the Arc. But the WAF went WAY up with the Sonos set up and integrated nicely with the rest of the speakers around the house.

Just my two cents.

Appears to come out to the same price as the Sonos sale later in November at Costco 🤔

Same as Black Friday prices. So if you're planning on getting both, can pull the trigger now

They need a new model already. No display and crappy low dialog when watching movies makes the arc trash. 990b way better
The dialogue issue may have to do with audio compression for streaming content. You would notice a difference with a Blu-Ray Disc or running Dolby Atmos on Xbox, etc. it's a pretty common problem.

The bose 900 is $600 at qvc and you can add just about any powered sub to that if youre willing to deal with using a wired connection to the soundbar.

Agree, that soundbar pricing is ridiculous. at this price getting the klipsch nines as a soundbar alternative for $750 is going to be leagues better but with a significant hit to aesthetics

Yea but no body use disc anymore. 990b does not have the same problems. Clear dialog. Best set out of everything I tried

Sure you can turn it up and hear it but it makes everything else unbalance no matter how many times I tune it. The only benefit of Sonos are music and being able to upgrade individual components

I specifically said I usually DO NOT have to turn it up. It sounds pretty balanced 95% of the time.

And quite honestly, the low dialog thing has been a thing since I've owned home theater systems - dating back to the early 2000s. The Arc is, arguably, one of the best systems I've owned in this regard - not having to adjust the volume every 2 minutes depending on what's happening on screen.

But again, this is a very subjective experience. Everybody's ears are different, and everybody else doesn't care so long as they can hear their movie. Like my 63 year old mom, who's happy with TV speakers. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Even if it is cheaper, they honor price matching.
