you can let the 60/month plan expire and get the boost mobile prepaid 3months of service for $15 at bestbuy right now. regular price is $45 for 3 months of service.

hopefully that will count towards the 12 months of active service
is boost like tmobile/att where you can take out the sim and put a new one in and it will start working?
Or do you have to contact boost for the swap like you would at metro?
so you bought the $15 3 month plan along with this deal?
I just received my iPhone 12 from his deal.
I'm planning to do the same as you.
For some reason I think we have to use the sim that came with the phone in order to get the unlock going. But there is no way I'm going to pay $60 every month...so your method is risky but worth it.
I think I read that someone is using multiple of these $15 3 month cards in hopes to satisfy the 12 months
Also, at least for when the deal was tied to the 40 dollar plan someone posted them being 3 months in that plan thinking it would be possible to downgrade the plan after 3 months, but the option never showed. In my personal experience with the unlimited Boost mobile plan, at least in my location, is that it is not worth it at all (the one offering 12 Gb or tethering). It is heavily de-prioritized so when using this plan, I only get fast and stable data late at night or very early in the morning (before 8), otherwise data is un-stable, most noticeable when placing a video call where video and audio will stutter to the point of being unable to hold a conversation. Even in youtube, video will pause every 5 min or so for like 30 seconds to a minute, sometimes more frequently. By contrast both visible and cricket unlimited plans are very stable, even if cricket does cap the speed of their unlimited plan (and uses the same AT&T network as Boost), at least you have constant stable data vs Boost unlimited plan which is very hard to use reliably during most of the day and you only get good speeds in low use times. This problem is not present in the regular data-limited plans of Boost by the way, like the 5 Gb plan where connection is stable and high speed the majority of the time. So much so that, at least in my area, it is better than visible or tracfone most of the times.
If I already have Boost can I just stick my current sim in it when it arrives and cancel the $60 plan?
Yes, with Boost the phone is not tied to the specific SIM like it is on Verizon and its MVNOs. Just be aware that nobody knows if the unlock will be fulfilled if you use a different SIM card.

Two and a half weeks ago, I tried to get the iPhone 12 deal in Boost stores in NYC. OMFG, what a cesspool of scam artists and absolute scumbags.
It's $149.99 + tax but then they force you onto a minimum $50, charge you $35 activation + tax and $25 SIM card fee + tax… Before you get done, the iPhone 12 + plan deal isn't a deal at all but a straight up rip off costing you more than $300 and being locked down to Boost for a minimum of a year due to the 12-month device lock…
And, no, you can't use a Boost-locked device on Boost Infinite, ICYWW.
So with those nasty up charges and extra, magical "fees", I just decided to buy it online.
Bad idea, too!
It took 15 whole damn days and hours on the phone across 9 calls to finally get the iPhone 12 $199 + tax deal.
It was a nightmare. Let me tell you.
They had no idea where my order was, when it would be shipped or what the heck was going on. I literally was about to do a chargeback when my email pinged that I had just received a tracking number for the missing order… ♀️
So, I finally got it yesterday afternoon. Right now it's being used for a second line. I will never be doing business with Boost after this. I will use the BoostOne app's coins to get free service then bounce when I get the phone unlocked.
No company is worth this amount of bullshit, scams and headaches. IJS
Buyer beware when it comes to Boost.

Sounds like the same in store experience as in Metro. Only issue I've had with them so far is founds from a prepaid service card not showing in my account after applying. But that was promptly resolved by an over the phone agent. Biggest issue is heavy de-prioritization with their unlimited plans but their limited data plans have worked really good, at least in the areas I've used service so far.

There is no way to change the plan. I clicked on change plan and no other rate plans show up
I disabled auto pay just now.
Some people got lucky in the other boost iPhone 12 deal and had it unlocked early. Mine is still locked from that deal.
Did you do anything different ?
Not bad, even if it is locked to boost.
