If you have a Prime Visa, the Amazon deal is much better.
But if you are unsure and have Best Buy Total, this camera is returnable until Jan 13 2024.
If I didn't have Sony lenses already I might consider switching.

This. Think I'm gonna go this route instead. If I don't have to turn in my RP then this is probably the best deal other than (future) refurbished offers. Although it's a gamble whether to wait for Black Friday.
If you call canon they just ask for the serial number for the lens or camera body you're upgrading. The discount is pre tax so you're actually ahead of the Amazon chase rebates
I return a lot of stuff to amazon every week. Never have any issues. The entire return process is automated checkboxes.
I don't understand why they are giving you a hard time. It's almost as if some information is missing from your story.
