Are Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 good compared to i5 or i7? I am also looking for a laptop, just for browsing and accessing MS Office.

3.7 average rating out of 5, from 19 reviews, but unfortunately the 2 most recent reviews are both the lowest possible rating, 1 star:

Battery Issues
This was a birthday gift for our granddaughter. This was her first laptop for school. Unfortunately after charging it up, it would not hold the charge. She had to exchange it for another and the second one had the same issues. We are very disappointed. They ended up returning the second one and are now contemplating other options.

Recommends this product ✘ No

Very Disappointed
Purchased this one month ago. For the last week, we have been having trouble getting the laptop to startup. I push the button and nothing happens.I plug it in and still wont start. I take out our Logitech mouse fob and it still wont work. I keep trying everything and it will finally boot up. Also, the power cord plug "stem" is way to thin and very flimsy. We dont think this is the issue with the bootup since we try to boot without it as well. Going to seek a return."

Recommends this product ✘ No

Even a 4 star review states: "An issue of some moderate concern is that I've gotten "blue screen of death" 3 times in a few weeks. That's high, and may indicate that something in the hardware is headed for a crash"

I think the deal at target for the Lenovo is a better deal especially if you got a 10% off coupon.

Definately.
I've been using an Acer Chromebook with 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. It also has a 1.1 GHz Intel Celeron N for a year or so, now, and don't have any issues. 10 or more tabs open in Chrome and it's fine.
I can't vouch for this particular model, tho.

This is a Zen 2 chip, using technology from 2020. It's ok for browsing and office apps, but AMD is being extremely deceptive in calling this a Ryzen 5. Starting with the 4000 series, the Ryzen 5 mobile chips have always had 6 cores; this only has 4, in reality it's a Ryzen 3 and performs no better than a Ryzen 3 from 2021:

Look for 7x30U or 7X35U chips. Those are Zen 3. The newest chips are 7X40U but won't be found on laptops below $700 or so.

Would those be found $400-500 by black Friday, i don't see any right now with that price unless you can recommend. I was thinking of just grabbing this dell Inspiron intel i5. It look better than the acer laptop in this thread but do you think the difference in the price for ryzen 7x30u is justified? https://slickdeals.net/f/17040208-dell-inspiron-15-3520-15-6-fhd-120hz-ips-i5-1235u-16gb-ddr4-512gb-ssd-370-44
