If it's the carrier model that was subsequently unlocked, it is missing some bands.

I know this is 5 months late but I'm in the market for one of these and found this thread. Do you know how to tell which bands are potentially not there if a used hotspot was previously carrier locked and subsequently unlocked?

Put another way, I have an unlimited hotspot plan with AT&T (well, firstnet specifically) - would I be safe to buy one that was previously AT&T locked? Or does the unlocking itself remove what would have been previously allowed on the device? Thanks.

For one?

I'd buy renewed if I was looking at this

Buy this product as Renewed and save $821.55 off the current New price.

The AT&T model should be fine for your use. Unlocking the modem for using other network SIMs doesn't automatically enable the bands that weren't activated for AT&T's model but if you only use AT&T with it there's no difference because it'll have the bands you need.
