"In the 1st year of the warranty, panel, parts and labor costs are covered. In the 2nd-5th year of the warranty, only panels are covered, and labor will be charged." From LG website.

Please explain.

Edit: Just read that the 83" doesn't feature the MLA technology introduced on the other sizes. What a shame.

Except s90c sucks at everything else. Poor motion handling and upsampling, software/OS, quality assurance and build quality, sound, fragility, only 1 year warranty, and no dolby vision.

...think I'll get a G3.
enjoy. i saw both and s90c looked better, but dont listen to me, i am just a dude on the internet Smilie

I did not like my experience with CPS. They assigned some shit repair shop. My issue was that my LG OLEDOLED65C8PUA had a green tint in the center of the screen. I was asked for pictures of my screen, and I sent quite a few. Then I waited...and waited...and waited. This went on for weeks. No one ever actually laid eyes on the TV. They just said that it was burn-in and that to repair it would be more than the cost of a new one. My TV was $2,300 when I bought it. Fortunately, through a slick deal, I ended up paying $1,800 plus whatever the warranty cost me. They offered me $1,000...take it or leave it.
So you burned in your 5 year old 65c8 and they offered to cut you a check for enough to buy a new 65 inch replacement upgrade and you were upset? Did you expect them to cut you a check for the tvs msrp at the time of purchase? Could have gone up to the 77 with that.

Samsung hasn't put Dolby Vision on their TVs for years and likely won't. They have been pushing their own HDR tech. I bought a Sony in 2018 since this is the Single main reason why I haven't and won't purchase a Samsung TV.
supposedly, dolby vision is not extremely different than hdr10, so just hoping I won't notice. Plus I am legally blind, so most likely some details I'd not notice the difference on.

I posted a deal on a 77 s90c and impulsively ordered it cause it was so cheap 1899.
I later went to Bestbuy multi times before picking up my order. Read endless reviews and came to the conclusion that it's cheap for a reason. The Samsung is garbage. Canceled it and ordered the LG G3 65. A smaller but better set.

I've been arguing with people on that forum for days, so its refreshing to come here and see like minded people.
Very similar situation as you however I actually did get the S90C, mounted it, and then realized they sent me a lemon. Bought the 77" G3, hate having to pay more. Part of me was wondering if I should have tried a 2nd S90C. Oh well, I will have peace of mind with the G3, Dolby Vision and won't hand to be another mount. Also nice that the G3 took first place in a German blind tested TV shootout, https://hifi-de.translate.goog/ne...r_pto=wapp.

Where he said he used the TV for 5 yrs? This incident might have happened few years ago. Warranty means replacement or repair, It doesnt mean take it or leave itMadI will never buy CPS due to this incident.

So glad I grabbed a G2 last year when they were marking them way down. Ended up getting a 65in out the door for $1500 The new G3 definitely isn't worth the markup as the G2 is plenty bright even next to two floor to ceiling windows in my living room and the C3 even during blackfriday is more than I paid for the G2.

The LG G3s come with a built-in manufacturer 5 year warranty, so what does the 4 year extended warranty here add exactly? LG is always kinda vague about what their warranty covers. At least the CPS warranty is clear about what it covers.
I believe it's covered burn in since 2021.

The main reason I want a C3 is because of quick media switching. The black screens changing between apps and even movies on the apple tv is so damn annoying. I'd go back to my tv apps, but the wifi is much better on the apple tv.

First, I understand burn-in, static images, etc. I did nothing wrong to get a green-tinted screen, so yes, I am annoyed.

Second, I did not expect a check for what the TV cost. I expected them to fix my TV, or cut me a check for a comparable, current TV which is $1,600. That's $700 less than I paid for it.

So now if I want to go out and buy a new LG OLED, it's $1,600 + tax + extended warranty i.e. plenty of money out of pocket. If you disagree and think they gave me enough, that's fine. I'm just calling bullshit.

I've had 77" LG G3 for a couple of months now....Absolutely blown away by it every day. My first LG. Was reluctant to buy since I've always had Samsung / Sony. Made the best decision! Just make sure as soon as you turn it on, you turn off "eco mode" and immediately change viewing mode to "filmmaker" or "expert" from torching "standard".

Also, anyone who buys these TVs and using internal TV speakers or even a soundbar is missing out tremendously on movie theater experience. Just get a solid AVR (at least 5.1.2+), and don't ever use TV speakers again, and enjoy full potential. I personally run it with 7.1.4 setup. Will likely expand to 7.2.4 soon.
can you recommend a good AVR?

If you are going with a full 7.1.4 setup, I like the Yamaha Aventage RX-A8A. It is a $3000 unit, but can be had for closer to $2000 if you look around. It will power all those speakers without the need of any additional equipment. If you are going for a more traditional 7.1 setup, you could step down to the RX-A6A which powers 9 channels, and you can later add a 2 channel amp if you update to a full 7.1.4 down the road.

Depends on your budget and what you're trying to do, i.e., how many channels / speakers you are trying to run. I would always recommend Denon / Marantz, but as far as specific model, depends on your needs.

If the G3 sits flush against the wall, can you use one of those ambient back lights with it?

Next year's LG OLEDs are reported to have a significant processor upgrade when this year's model did not (just the MLA upgrade for the "Gs").
And the absence of NextGen tuners.
