Product Details:
THX® Certified Ultra: THX® engineers completed hundreds of different scientific tests to ensure the highest audio performance possible. The tests ensure the speaker can reach the high volumes necessary to achieve THX Reference Level, without creating audible distortion or artifacts. THX® Certified Ultra products are designed for large rooms, up to 3,000 cubic feet in size, with a 10~12 foot viewing distance from the screen.
13" Woofer: The Monolith™ 13" driver was developed from the ground up, with a design focus on achieving output, accuracy, dynamics, and linearity, while minimizing distortion. It is enclosed in a cabinet made from HDF material, with massive internal bracing, and outfitted with three ports that can use foam plugs to run the subwoofer in sealed, semi‑sealed, or ported mode, as you see fit.
2000 Watt Amplifier: The 2000‑watt (RMS) amplifier (3800+‑watt peak) is built around a Texas Instruments® 48‑bit data path, with 28‑bit filter coefficients, and DSP engine. Each amplifier's transfer function, power output limiting, and thermal protection are monitored to the millisecond and are customized for each individual driver. The high efficiency Class D amplifier modules are based on a proven topology that has been continuously refined over the past 8 years. The amplifier has vast reserves of power for highly accurate, deep bass for your home theater or music system.

My friend that works at monoprice told me about this deal and has confirmed that most of the subs on this sale are in fact new items. Monoprice are simply trying to meet sale quotas before the end of year. That explains why so many in stock!
I wish they would sell out so I could stop considering these.
As someone whose Monolith 12 v2 amp died after 15 months and is currently going through an RMA process, I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole. If it had the full 5 year warranty, it would be tempting.

Order cancelled, reason out of stock. If that's the case, why did they allow me to order the damn thing in the first place and charge me? If they didn't have stock the order should not have gone through in the first place.
Order was cancelled, email claims out of stock. I'm sorry but if it's out of stock, why did the order go through in the first place and I was charged? It's 2023 and you can't have a website that works.
Honestly this model looks to be a competitor in specs to the SVS PB-4000. I guess it was too good to be true.
It goes punch for punch overall with the PB16 Ultra minus the finish. It's good.
Unfortunately this has left a pretty bad taste in my mouth, everything about it is so wildly unprofessional. It's almost unreal. It speaks to chaos at the company; it's really such a big mess up that maybe they aren't profitable and could be laying people off associated with keeping these systems running.
At least that's the only thing I can think of, because they did a giant sale - and I don't buy that it was a mistake, that makes no sense. People were buying subs for hours. At any reasonable company, that kind of buy activity would trigger further review.
The fact that this not only didn't happen, but they proceeded to RE OPEN orders AGAIN and then cancel everything AGAIN, like it's just unreal.
This deal was insane but the conduct here makes me wonder if the company will even be around next year, and if that's the case, you ain't getting no 5 year warranty regardless.
How could anyone possibly trust this company after such a poor showing? They've lost my business forever, not because of the situation, but because of how poorly they handled it on multiple levels.

This isn't new and just in this situation(like all the other times) people were warned of the risk but continued to try to purchase this.
Very unlikely they will go anywhere, after all IF you are one of the lucky ones, you do end up with good performance for the price.
Their website claims they have 136 in stock again if you can believe anything they say.
FWIW, if you order two at once the free shipping changes from standard to Fedex freight. Previously I had done separate orders of single units and they were all getting canceled, but as noted I got a shipping notification for the first time when using freight.
Their website isn't claiming that. People are using the 'add a bunch to cart" trick and making an assumption that the number that shows up in their cart is what the stock actually is. That is not the same as Monoprice making an explicit stock claim.

So what do you feel the 136 number represents? Toy believe they just enter random numbers in?

I'm willing to bet they cancelled all the ones that were located outside their cheapest delivery zone. Saved themselves money.
