Great starter piano. I have 2022 model from Costco at the same price around same time last year.

Only complaint is that the headset plug is at the back of the piano and plugging/unplugging has been a pain. You cannot add an extension either because as soon as it's plugged in, speaker will not sound.

It was in my warehouse. They had stacks of them at the discounted price by the TVs.

How does this compare to the Casio CDP-S90 at 449 online now?

dug through the reviews and found directly in the costco website. TLDR: roland far superior in every way. I think I'll go with the roland.

"I missed out on the Roland FRP-1 sale and thought I would give this digital piano a try. This digital piano would be great for a beginner, but the quality of the sound and feel of the keys was disappointing if you're a more experienced player.

My main disappointment with the sound was how quickly the notes faded out. The sustain seems shorter than a normal piano and other digital pianos. Maybe this is to accommodate the 64 note polyphony. Sustain refers to how long the played note's sound persists before fading away (without releasing the key). Again, this probably won't bother most people starting out.

As to the feel, I'm not sure what scaled hammer action actually means. Most digital pianos have "progressive" hammer action, where lower keys (left side) have a stronger hammer feel than higher keys (on the right side). The weight felt all the same to me, and honestly just felt weighted - no hammer feel like more premium digital pianos. If you're just starting out - again not a big deal.

Comparing this to the Roland FRP-1, a digital piano available to demo at warehouses, besides bluetooth app connectivity, those are my main observations. I ended up going with the Roland."

"Like another reviewer, I compared this with the Roland FP-10 (FRP-1 package) and was very disappointed by the Casio, even accounting for the cost difference. The keys were just enough to qualify as scaled and weighted, but the action was not as good as the Roland and nothing like an acoustic piano.
As far as the sound, I honestly think this produces inferior sound to my Casio CX-700, which is essentially a toy for beginners (which I still am). It may be the rear mounted speakers, which seems an odd choice for a unit that 99% of users will place against the wall. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to test it with headphones before returning it, but I think the samples were also poor. Just disappointing all around, really. With the FRP-1 back on sale now, there's no reason to go with the CDP-S90."

The Roland fp30x for 469 a few months ago was the deal to get. Maybe bf will give us a similar deal if you're willing to wait and see. These deals from costco aren't spectacular

Been meaning to buy a piano to learn. However, it's black Friday and I don't know if I already missed best piano deals or this is it. Would really like an input on if I should go for this one or wait.
