No back/forward thumb buttons, you couldn't pay me $40 to use this thing.
My mouse has had that for years. Never used it once. Is it useful?

You don't use back/forward thumb buttons?
I use them more than the right-click button.

Wired mice is still a thing? I got rid of all mine 10 years ago.
Wired mouse = no latency, which is important if you need to be quick and accurate.

I can't use this mouse because it does not have the back and forward buttons. Here's how I use the back and forward buttons:

When I am on a web page, I can push the back button to get back to the previous web page.
You can push the forward button to move forward to the next web page.

I ordered one and just got it yesterday -- very nice mouse for $4. Decent sensor, good shape and the clicks feel good as well. The mouse feet are pretty rough since they appear to be made of a rough plastic instead of PTFE and the cable is pretty stiff, as to be expected from a rubber cable, but I can't really complain for the price, especially with free shipping. I prefer 1600dpi or higher when I am using higher resolutions, and most budget mice are 1000dpi or lower.

Just for the sake of answering your question, People who need back/forward dedicated buttons on pointing devices are typically stuck with working in browser based environments like sharepoint , power automate, canva, SAP, that is all navigating forward and backward, it's tons easier to be working on a row and just click with the mouse than moving the mouse to upper left of the screen all day, or using two hands for keyboard shortcuts.

If that's not a necessity and wired is ok, this is a good deal because it's a good mouse. the feel of the scroll wheel is smooth and the clicking buttons feel smoother than all my clicks logitechs, but to each his own.
