I bought 5 of these for the office inventory and 2 of them had unfixable keypress issues. I would avoid.

Anybody know if these are designed with that idiotic "feature" where if either the mouse or the keyboard breaks both become unusable because one works through the other? If so, dealbreaker, if not, I'm in.

Sir, as I know it, if one of them fails the other one should be still working, because they have their own transmitters.

I received this set yesterday and I am typing on it. There is one USB receiver for the mouse and keyboard. With one receiver, if you lose the mouse or keyboard, the other one still works.

Actually, I don't like the mouse in this set and I am using another bluetooth mouse instead.

The typing experience is not great but consider the price of this set. It is a basic set of keyboard and mouse.

I had expiring Lenovo reward points and that is the only reason I bought this set early this week.

Apparently, I've read numerous folks complaining on the Interweb, that some are now being designed such that the mouse and keyboard have to both be present (either the mouse is repeatered through the keyboard or vice versa, I forget which) - having nothing to do with whether there is only one usb receiver dongle. There's still only one receiver dongle, but it won't work unless both devices are present. Obviously so that if one breaks or is lost you have to buy both again, more money for them! Only way to tell up front is to remove the batteries from each and verify that the other still works, I suppose. Well, I ordered one, we'll see. If Lenovo is participating in this scam, it will definitely be returned.

I just removed the battery of the mouse. So now only the keyboard is connected to the USB receiver. I am typing on that keyboard. If you see it, it means the keyboard works by itself without going through the mouse. Again, I don't like that mouse and I plan to use only the keyboard. I prefer Logitect mouse.

Thanks, that's good news, means I won't have to send mine back when it gets here tomorrow Wink

Edit: Just got mine, works fine, both function independently, but you're right about the mouse..it's oddly designed. Aside from the weird shape of it, it's held together by a magnet, and weak magnet at that. I suspect I'm going to be frequently putting this thing back together right up until I get frustrated enough to wrap some tape around it.
