If your membership is expiring soon. You can cancel it and it will give you the option to rejoin at $49 plus tax. Worked for me. YMMV

$49 / 12 months is around $4 a month, it has plenty of benefits, the main are the free shipping, free delivery.

Time is more valuable than money, you can earn more money but you can't earn more time.
Because some of the content is ad free when streaming via Walmart+.
The thing that annoys me the most about this membership is you still need to meet $35 for free curbside pickups at the store. So dumb.

Your local Amazon "whole foods" brick and mortar store will deliver to you non-stop with no minimum? Do they deliver up to 9-10pm at night like these Walmart delivery people? What about people outside the bigger cities in this country where there are no Whole Foods stores for 100+miles in either direction? They still come to you right? Hmmm. Nope.

Outside of Subscribe and Save on Amazon, which is great, Walmart is catching up. They have actual brick and mortar stores everywhere in this country, unlike Amazon outside which are mostly only in large cities. Walmart+ has a subscribe service, but no discount of 5-15% like Amazon, which I need to say again, is a big deal if you order a lot of stuff every month. Perhaps that will change in the future.

For people talking about tips, that's up to you. You don't have to tip anything of course, You are paying for a service that is supposed to be free delivery. The drivers are getting paid an actual wage/hr so It's up to you if you feel the need to do so. I always give tips, but it's up to the customer.

I signed up this time last year and had auto renewed at $99 before this deal went live.
I chatted with customer service and was able to cancel with a full refund. Logged back in to my W+ account and was greeted by the $49 special.
Thx op

I pay another $40/yr for InHome+ which is no tipping + they'll put it directly in your fridge if you want. The only downside is a bigger delivery window. Totally worth it for me based on no tips alone.
just signed up for it. 1st month free, 12 months after for 40 👍

Amazon Prime is still the best by far in my opinion. If you have the Prime card you get 5% off of prices that are already most likely lower then Walmart. And let's be honest, you can literally find anything on Amazon and the shipping is far more reliable. It's also far easier dealing with returns. Amazon wins.
If you have the Walmart card you get 5% off everything too. I personally think Walmart is cheaper than Amazon, and they destroy Amazon on grocery prices. Walmart Plus picks up returns right from your door, no questions asked. Amazon used to do this, but now they highly encourage you to do a drop off return. I say Walmart wins. Not to mention the fact, that Bezos is Assh#*e

Walmart does in fact have a 5% off credit card. This complaint keeps getting repeated. My Walmart store is 8 miles away from my home. Walmart employees deliver the groceries and products, and there is no tipping, no pop up box asking you to tip either. You could not tip even if you wanted to. I guess Walmart asks for tips if the store does do deliveries in your area. My local store does all deliveries, and there is no tipping, believe me.

That's right, i've had the Walmart Capital One card since early 2022 as well. I don't use it that much as I don't really need to. It needs to be said that you get 2% CB in store VS 5% CB online. I am glad I don't even need to go into the store anymore though, mostly just ordering delivery. Amazon is great for certain items though, which I will admit. Walmart is catching up on 3rd party sellers though, but it's a long road ahead on that front.

When talking about delivery from store, they always show you the tip boxes, which are optional of course (but will default to 10% if you see), for a service you are paying for. Unnlike Amazon, which no tip box is included since they pay their drivers already/which of course Walmart does as well.

That being said, for certain items, you can just the choose 'Shipping' option, and sometimes you can just get certain items delivered by drivers the next day from the nearest store. This does not always work though.

*In my area, Walmart employees do not deliver items. They are 3rd party delivery people hired by Walmart. You must live closer to a larger city where they have their own drivers deliver items. I'm 6 miles from my local Walmart, but about 50 miles from the largest city. The people delivering here, are most definitely regular joes/joettes using their own rides.

As others have noted, the 5% is only online not in stores. I think you are far better off using Sam's and Costco for food and gas purchases using Plus membership and Executive membership. I'm only comparing Amazon vs Walmart for everything non-food. I still think Amazon wins by a mile here.

As for returns, Amazon is still very easy. They have tons of very easy options.

Why are you commenting on my post? I replied saying it is crazy you cant do curbside if you pay for this and you reply complaining about something else? Strange.

Honest question: If you're someone who typically avoids going to Walmart, could you tell me why it might still be worth purchasing this? As a person who likes to save money, if I think it's a really good deal, I'll still buy from Walmart (online if possible). I've really wanted to ditch my Amazon prime membership, so I'm wondering if this might be a worthy replacement. I see now this question has probably been answered at length in the 34 pages of comments. Please, continue with any necessary flaming
Amazon Prime for deliveries is a total scam for most imo as they will usually deliver in 2-3 days anyway and how many things that you order do you need immediately? Yes there is now a $35 limit you have to meet without Amazon Prime, but really just batch your orders. Imo the only real value Prime has is in the video (and that is not worth $100+ a year imo). When Prime Day rolls around, I just sign up for the free 1 month trial. Have never paid for Prime.

As to Walmart+, even more useless imo, but to each his own. I only use Walmart for non-produce grocery orders and do free curbside pickup. Never go into the place. Anything else online I might occasionally order from them I have shipped and meeting the limit is easy enough if you throw in some fillers like laundry detergent.
