I would still get this over current gen LG/Samsung if not for gaming, and not for a Florida condo with wall of glass facing west. Anyone else, you won't be disappointed

The A90J is a Master Class OLED from 2021. If I'm going for pure picture quality, motion handling, and upscaling, I'm going with the A90J. I'll think it over, and see if I want to get it for my basement setup.

Enough stock for a holiday sale blowout, 2 years later? Guess the Sony tax is real, and not paying.

Sony kept producing the A90J 83" for two years. I'm honestly surprised that Walmart still has stock available. Most stores don't carry the 55" or 65" A90J. Best Buy sold their remaining 55" A90J for $999 late last year or earlier this year.
my concerns are brightness (kind of) and burn in risk

I wouldn't worry about burn in unless you play the same game or watch news for 8+ hours a day. I heard that ABL is very aggressive if you're watching bright sports like hockey etc.
couldn't i just plug in a google chromecast w google remote and do everything w that? works fine w my current setup (2013 1080p LED vizio)

If you want the most purist image with no processing or high contrast mode for a movie theater setup this if better if you're going for punchy over saturated colors or in a brighter room the Samsung if better
