I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

How could you create an account without a phone number? I cannot see any phone number in my agreement. I cannot log in to my Verizon account without a username! How did you do that?
what is the difference between a corporate store and an Authorized store? when I search for corporate Verizon stores I only can see Verizon stores!
Somebody please help me with that. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
Corporate store is a real "Verizon" store. Authorized store is a place like Walmart or BestBuy that sells Verizon plans on behalf of verizon.

Thank you so much for your response! What about creating an account? How could I go to a store and pay off without a phone and account? I have not received any line.

just read the loan agreement, it says "3. You may pay the total amount due under this device payment agreement at any time before the final scheduled payment is due, and you will non have to pay a penalty". VZN should allow pay off.
I just called Verizon and pressured the CS agent reading that clause #3 which she was also able to reference. She said in the bill estimate area of her software there was a buy out option and it would let her continue.

I paid $299 through a credit card. Now if I look at my next bill the device monthly charge is no longer there. Am I able to cancel service now? The device shipped today and I likely won't receive it until Saturday. I'm concerned if I don't turn on the device and the network see it, it will be in some limbo state and never unlock.

The phone number was in the loan agreement that you had to accept before checking out and paying the tax to Walmart. Many of us screenshot that info.

With that number you are able to register an account through a web browser. It wouldn't let me through the app. I am a new customer.

Thats verizon policy, cannot payoff before 14 days other than instore. mentioned many times in this thread. vzw agent has no control over it.

I don't know enough about the phone lock/unlock situation. I just know if I go to settings, general, about, and scroll down…no sim restrictions means unlocked. I assume the device is shipped locked.

Since I didn't save that number, could I have them look it up via email and/or SSN?

that explains why there was a different number on the checkout page to contact via text.

so far this is what i have gathered. Order the phone verizon route last night 11/8. Phone is expected to delivery by tomorrow 11/10. The status just changed today 11/9 from "preparing" to "on the way". The moment that happened, I received a status change on the email I registered with while signing up from Verizon. I was able to create an account with verizon without phone# and logged in to link my phone# with the account which didn't work before now works. From there I could see the device IMEI (eSIM). I'm in the process of trying to see if I can pay it off via phone call / chat. From the chat the automated system said that I could not pay off the phone until 12/7/2023 and to come back then. Still trying to see if i can the pay off before I receive the device.

I noticed this too during check out and even changed the # to my own without thinking twice why there was a wierd # there. So on my first order I have no clue what # is associated with it. I'm going to wait for the pending to "On the way" status to call in and ask if they can locate my account. I tried today while its still "pending" status and nobody could find anything.

I ordered yesterday 11/08, and read the agreements during the order which said first payment due on 11/29. That's very typical for postpaid bill, payment due on 20th day of billing cycle.
True, I see 11/29 on my agreement as well. I'm asking more about the clock ticking in relation to trying to avoid the activation fee before the first 3 days of Verizon service are up.

Right. That different number was your new number. IDK how you get it now. I used the number to create me account. Verizon never emailed me the contract at least yet.

Scroll up. I was just able to pay off the device with a CS rep. I'm unsure though when I should cancel. Should I wait till Saturday when I get the phone to turn it on and then cancel? I don't want to mess up the automated unlock in 60 days process.

I payed off the device. You activation seems to be whenever you create your account based on what I can tell. I just canceled my service via chat and the rep even said the phone should be unlocked already so we shall see. I'm getting it tomorrow.

Thanks for your suggestions, I'm going to try this and see. I would think once you paid off you should cancel ASAP.

Stupid question time...whether you buy the AT&T or VZW model, is it a A2484 universal model, locked to one or the other carrier?

If it is the same phone, don't they have carrier specific mods/bloatware added? Are the phones equally ":dirty"?

From what I read, you can unlock the VZW model earlier and easier?

I am buying it to upgrade a model X that is on Red Pocket/AT&T. I remember trying to use an AT&T phone on TMO. It worked on the bands compatible with both, but wouldn't get upgrades from neither carrier.

Thanks
