I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

any solution found?
I called and they said they could force add it to the bill. Which I'm just waiting on a response here to see if that just means if I cancel that it will only be the one day of service plus the 36$ on the phone I have left to pay.

I have done these in past years with AT&T, this time Verizon. Activation fees were always waived on AT&T since have "The Discount". Anyway, seems the best deal with Verizon centers around making sure you cancel within 3 days. Three questions for verterans of these deals with VZW:

1. Does a completed port waive the activation fee without "fighting" for it?

2. Does the port need to be to a non-verizon MVNO so it is a true port?

3. So my account shows activation on 11/9, is three days for this 11/9+11/10+11/11 or 11/9 plus 3 days equals 11/12? ( I ask as my delivery is 11/11 and if I have to do the after hours bot payoff then I still need to talk to a human to cancel if I go that route)
I thought you could cancel through chat? Could be wrong

forgot to take a screenshot of account number and phone number at the time of placing order. The phone was just shipped. Anybody knows how to get the account number and phone number in my situation?
I believe you are out of luck because only way to create account is to have the phone number to link it

Look at my last comment. Look for the post that mentions saving your credit card to your Verizon account. The original message is a few pages back.
It didn't work for me either. I saved my card and everything.

@AnOtherDay: To confirm how you unlocked the device … please review?

- you received in the mail the phone
- you took the shrink wrap off and inserted an old (meaning used but no longer active) AT&T SIM
- you turned on the phone and went thru standard iPhone setup on the handset
- you went to the At&t unlock portal and submitted a request (any specific details needed here?)
- the phone was automatically unlocked in 5 minutes

Is this accurate?
Precisely. Only catch is I had to look up both confirmation and approval emails from ATT in my junk folder...

they told the same to me but i should pay the amount by next billed date so in that case i asked for other options and she transferred the line to finance dept and they got it work done with extra $10 for agent assistant fee! try that way

ATT sim trick worked for me too.

Start phone with old ATT sim (infact it was a ATT MVNO), submit unlock request, got it unlocked in 5 mins.

Did you already cancel the line? Mine delivers tomorrow as well, ordered 11/8, shipped 11/9, wondering if I don't cancel tonight will I be past the 3 day activation refund?

Weird, I added the card, called 611, said agent, when asked for more specifics I said "pay off device" then the automated system guided me and paid it off, took 2 minutes.

Sorry. I looked through a bunch of pages but there's 78 to go through. What happens if you don't pay off the phone before you cancel. Do you just pay the 299 plus a day or two of service. Is it critical to pay it off before you cancel?

please post if you figure it out

I think I have my phone number as it appeared in the mobile contact but I did not get account number

Do you need to wait for it to ship before you can create an account?

Most people paid off first to avoid any chance of being forced to return because breach of agreement by canceling line first but I guess that's not a thing?
There was definitely a line somewhere that said they could force you to return the phone
Can't think of any other reason, other than not having to wait for the bill and just get it over with
