Paying off device on Verizon without speaking to an agent:
- Add a payment method to your Verizon account.
- Dial 611 from the new phone, which should confirm your existing line, or dial 8008374966 and provide the phone number/PIN
- Say "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts
1. you can activate the phone on new line
2. Pay off the phone via verizon customer service or in cash at verizon corporate store.
corporate stores are inclined not to take payment in cash. they may be aware of what folks are doing . thus they try to make it hard for you.
if corporate store denies u. politely but firmly insist u spoke with rep of verizon. and they assured u this can be done in corporate store. if still denied, ask for manager. if still denied, go to another corporate store.
3. cancel the line within 3 days and no activation fee . Pro-rated charges for line for 1-2 days only. do not worry about what bill says.
4. Phone will be automatically unlocked in 60 days. No matter you use it on existing VZN line or keep it in drawer . even if u r no longer a customer , since u cancelled in three days. the phone will still unlock.
5. new customer, there will be a credit pull .most likely soft. existing customer. most likely a soft credit pull. remember this is post paid service.
6. if existing customer. consider: adding a line. then follow steps above, u can also simply port out the line u opened up. effectively cancelling the line. and not effecting the other lines on your account.
(Note: this trick is for IPhone only and will not work with A54)
I can confirm the AT&T trick is working with a Verizon phone. It doesn't matter whats going on with your Verizon account. Paid off, not paid off, no account, canceled or not. This is concerning your DEVICE. You should pay the $299 as soon as you can find someone to take payment lol and cancel your line to stop the prorated monthly charges.
1. Under no circumstance, do NOT put the Verizon sim card into the phone unless you want a 60 day lock.
2. Ok let's free our
3. First phone boot was with the AT&T card. In settings, about device showed sim locked.
4. Visit https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ and click "start an unlock request"
5. Choose no mobile number from AT&T and enter the IMEI from setting, about. Don't enter the IMEI2 which is for your phones esim.
6. Check your email & junk folder to click link from email to "confirm your request". I got email nearly immediately that my unlock was approved.
7. Now reset the phone. I left the AT&T sim in it. Now the phone shows no sim restrictions. Note you might not have to do the reset. I read that just changing the sim should cause the phone to show no sim restriction but I reset mine.
8. Put whatever sim in it you would like.
9. I actually bought a 2nd phone that is still in the mail so I plan to try to reuse the same sim though I'm not sure if it will work.
AT&T
ATT requires 60 days active before unlocking the phone. However, there is SIM Swap method which worked well in the past for unlocking paid-off ATT phones right away.
1. ATT changed their unlock policy on 3/18 to require 60 days of service before they can unlock a fully paid device. Previously, it used to be right away if you have paid in full.
2. There two timeline for the cancellation. If you cancel a line before 3 days it was active then the activation fee is waived. If you cancel it within 14 days from activation under buyers remorse then no bill is charged but activation fees need to be paid. The line activates on right when you place the order not the day you receive the phone on hand so you might have to pay the activation fee of $35.
3. You can use a tello number and port to ATT but you would have to make sure porting is successful by going to https://www.att.com/portstatus/. Many from z fold 3 got stuck in porting limbo and got the ATT account cancelled.
4. As with many deals here, a SIM swap method is found which can be used to unlock the device. This was working recently but not sure if ATT would fix it by the time you try it. The steps are as follows.
a. Pay in full for the phone. While your payment will quickly reflect in your account it will be at least a few hours before it updates for the unlock request.
b. When you receive the phone activate it on ATT with the SIM provided. Make sure it shows up on myATT app/in the web so ATT knows and registers the IMEI in the network. Then put the SIM in another unlocked phone, rebo[SIZE="4"]ot, make some calls and make sure this unlocked phone is now showing under the line in app/web portal.
c. Now go to ATT unlock portal https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ and then choose not an ATT customer and use the IMEI of ATT phone and submit an unlock request.DO NOT attempt more than twice or you will be blocked for 24 hours.
d.Confirm the unlock request email and receive the unlock code.
e. Only cancel the line after you have unlocked the phone.
For ATT cancel line without talking with a human:
1. write down your account number. Call *7678 from your ATT number to get the transfer pin.
2. Use your just unlocked iPhone 13 esim to activate a free trial at US Mobile to transfer your number. https://www.usmobile.co
3. After you submit transfer request, check your ATT phone message, it will ask you reply some number to confirm the transfer. After that, resubmit your transfer request again.
Updating Warranty Coverage
Your phone may show up as Coverage Expired after setting up. This is normal and not necessarily a sign the phone is used.
- Go to checkcoverage.apple.com [apple.com]
- Log in to your Apple ID or enter the IMEI
- Select the device and click the option to call Apple
- Upload your Walmart invoice and/or your coverage agreement. For Verizon customers, there are quite a few Customer Agreement under "Account" -> "Bill" -> "Document and Receipts", there is one has device id on it and it's the IMEI of the phone. Make sure back up it first since it could be gone after the line gets canceled.
- Submit the form and speak to the agent.

After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.
THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

I didn't open any credit card in last two months, and have a credit score ~730 and history ~2yrs
any recommendations?
And linked the number after shipping
I didn't open any credit card in last two months, and have a credit history ~2yrs
1) You have to note the phone number, email, billing zip code, and PIN provided at checkout at Walmart. If you don't, I don't know you can change/access that info ahead of the phone arriving.
2) Your phone won't be activated till it ships. That's when the 3 day activation refund timer starts. If your phone is going to arrive late, chances are you'll have to pay the $35 activation fee?
3) Set up a new Verizon account at Verizon.com, you can do this before the phone arrives. It'll ask to link your phone number number, and then your billing zip code and PIN. Then it'll send you an email to the *original* email registered during the Walmart checkout process to confirm. Note: if you try to register your phone without creating an account first, it won't work because it'll keep wanting to send a confirmation code to your new cell phone number.
4) Once you have created the account, go to Billing -> Documents & Settings, download everything and you'll see your activation date.
5) Go to billing and find the option for autopay. Add a credit card number.
6) Payoff the device using the previously posted instructions:
For those who'd like to pay off the device through the bot, here is what I did:
0. Add credit card account to your Auto Pay payment method.
1. If you haven't received the cellphone, that's okay, just call 8008374966
2. The bot is going to repeat your cell number that is calling from and asking if this is number you are calling about, you can just say no.
3. Then the bot will let you enter the new Verizon phone number.
4. Since I'm calling during out of business hour, the bot is going to help me out and ask for the Pin.
5. The bot is going to let you describe what you are calling about "in one or two sentences"
6. I just said "I'd like to pay off the deivce"
7. The bot said "Alright I can help" and then is going to confirm pay off details including the amount of the dollar and the credit card you are going to use.
8. You simply say Yes and it is done! I received the email immediately.
9. You can verify that the device is paid off by trying to pay off the device at Verizon. Account -> My Devices -> Pay off Device
10. Wait for phone to arrive. First phone I connected to Verizon, then made a few phone calls. Going to try the ATT trick with the 2nd one.
11. Call 611 from new cell phone. to cancel line. I asked them to waive my activation fee and they said that will be self adjusted later. They couldn't figure out how to do a manual waive. Anyway, gave up and said sure. After a few moments, I checked my account and I only owe $13.xx so it looks the activation should be auto waived if it's within 3 days.
Hope this helps someone, good luck!

I ordered 2 back to back, went through no problem. Christmas gifts with some leg work on my part I hope.
November 8, I started signing up for an AT&T account but stopped after deciding I wanted to try to get a green phone in store.
November 10, noon. I purchased a 128GB AT&T model in store (only black color was available). I ported in my main number fully expecting to be locked in for 60 days. I had to choose the $75 unlimited starter plan. The guy didn't know why I couldn't get the $65 plan and thought that maybe the discount would have applied when auto pay.
November 10, ~3PM. I saw the phone appear in my AT&T account that I started making on November 8. I might have had to click on the sync phone thing. I couldn't find a bill to pay for the phone though. Everything said bill unavailable.
November 10 ~4PM. I checked in the afternoon and the bill was available. I paid off the $299 using my credit card. I then swapped the SIM from the iPhone 13 to an unlocked iPhone 11 I had from the Metro promotion. I made a few calls and waited a bit and my 11 showed up in my AT&T account.
November 10 11 PM. I tried to unlock the phone using the request form. I was denied because I guess the payment was still in progress.
November 11 9AM. I woke up and tried the unlock again. This time it was a success. I specifically said I'm not an AT&T customer and just entered my IMEI. The phone was unlocked maybe a minute later.
November 11 12PM. I ported out to US Mobile to take advantage of the 50 day trial. No further charges from AT&T. Phone unlocked. Done. Never had to talk to anyone at AT&T.
Bonus: I had a merchant offer on one of my Citi cards that offered $50 off $65 spend at AT&T postpaid. This is the CC I used to pay for the phone. I'm not sure if I'll get it but I'm optimistic. I also have a second CC that offers $75 off of 2x $37.50 AT&T payments. I was going to use that card in case the SIM swap didn't work to mitigate the cost of getting a plan from AT&T.
I placed an verizon accessory order several days ago and the city came with the automatic address system was the old one and I corrected it manually to the new one.
However, I just double checked my record on experian and equifax both showing the new city name.
Did you tried again right after first time or waited for a while?
