Sigh... *Unzips wallet*

This is the third one I bought. They keep selling 'em that cheap, I'll keep buying them. Might just become a full time lettuce farmer.
sounds like she might rather grow cucumbers or eggplants instead

Same! I even took it to school and my 3rd graders started lettuce seedlings that they then all took home a couple weeks ago!

I recently ordered one of these for my elderly, home-bound grandmother so that she could enjoy watching the plants grow over the cold of winter.

The poor lettuce is dying because she's intractably convinced that the unit has to be unplugged as soon as the sun goes down at 6pm (then she forgets to plug it in again the next day).

Purchased the elite salad during prime day 3 weeks ago. One of the lettuce has been growing well at about 2-3 inches tall. 1 just sprouted and the other 4 have nothing in them still. support wont help you until 21 days

Plug it into a timed switch, either old school clicker or newer WiFi one

20 watt won't support much outside of herbs or for starting plants. For example (if you wanted to grow tomatoes or pot), you would want a bounty elite at 50 watts) 45 watts should be your minimum.

I typically start mine in a bag, transfer to the bounty, then to a farm XL.

what if you put it in a place where the plants also get plenty of natural light? then would it work for these cherry tomato plants?

Just bought one for my wife to hopefully reignite her interest in gardening. Ever since she found something called OF, she has had very little interest in anything else. 🤷 ♂️
