So if you buy 5 Vudu gift cards, you can list three of them in the Payments section of your account. You won't be able to store the other two there until you have spent the entirety of a giftcard's value and it drops off from your account.

Disc to digital is nice, but it doesn't always work. I would say it works more than half the time. It doesn't like boutique stuff. I have been having issues with it redeeming stuff from shout factory, anime, or just esoteric stuff. One movie I remember scanning (Versus) it didn't like, but I saw I could still buy it at full price. I was thinking about looking for another upc for it online.
If you are at your IP location example ( home ) based on your account then processing disc to digital is simple scan the barcode using the Vudu app camera on your smart phone and if it's a valid code the conversion price is listed DVD to HDX or Blu-ray to HDX .
There is a total amount of 100 Disc to Digital conversion that can be done in a rolling 12 month cycle. Meaning if you redeem 100 titles today the account wont reset until this same time next year.
100 movies converted = 200.00 dollars based on the 2.00 cost per movie.
Also.. some movie companies such as DISNEY / 20 Century FOX / Pixar / SONY do not allow for disc to digital redemptions. So check back of cover or spine to see who made the movie.

Imagine if Apple cut you off after redeeming a certain number of GCs. People would be pretty angry, but we know Apple wouldn't do that. Unfortunately I can't say the same for Vudu/Fandango.
This is a pretty major thing to say because if Vudu blocks each account at 40 GC redemptions, then you're forced to use multiple Vudu accounts which is a pain in the neck. It also means you should buy large GCs instead of small ones which I didn't know when I recently bought several small ones thinking it doesn't matter.
Nobody else has ever mentioned this before, so now I'm on the fence not knowing if KushConnoisseur is right or not.
Has nobody else here redeemed at least 40 GCs in the same account over his lifetime to disprove this? I don't think I will buy any more Vudu GCs until I have an actual answer.
Do you find any fine print that states there are a limit to the number of GC you can use per account? I'm in the same boat, as I have purchased many $25 bundles from Newegg. I'm sure I already reached my half life if this 40 limit is true.
This changes everything. It means that from now on, whenever VUDU and iTunes are having the same deal, I'm buying from iTunes from now on.

I have started only buying through iTunes. The quality is better. Vudu has a lot of things limited to 1080p or SD that are available on iTunes in higher resolution.
Best of luck

I don't doubt that KushConnoisseur had issues with redeeming his gift cards. I don't have a very good opinion of Vudu/Fandango as a company either, so I could believe they might have a secret redemption limit of 40.
The part I don't get is how can nobody else have encountered or posted about this issue on the Internet over the years unless Vudu just recently made this change? Surely KushConnoisseur can't be the first person ever to try to add 40 Vudu GCs to the same account? Is it possible another issue was at play here?
I will certainly be more cautious about buying Vudu GCs, and this just gives me another reason to favor iTunes (besides Apple is a much bigger/better company). However, the worst case is you'd have to use another Vudu account to use up remaining GCs if you hit this possible 40 limit. Then you'd have to log in and out on your streaming device which is a pain.
I'd really like to hear other sources confirm this. Until then I'm taking this with a grain of salt and will consider this an unconfirmed possibility.
